(And sorry we didn't get one up for the site... couldn't think of anything brilliant this year.)

April Fools! We're always brilliant!

(and, in the spirit of the thread, check out Reddigg. It won't make sense if you're not familiar with reddit already, but I thought it was funny)

I posted a status update on Facebook that we had a baby girl, Trixie Ann Olivetti, who was born at 5:61pm and had flipper fingers.

It's AMAZING how many people took that seriously.

A website I read that reviews action figures, Transformers, geeky crap like that had the site get taken over by their wives, daughters, and significant others, leading to girl-icized reviews, discussions of what stores she visits while her husband is hunting for action figures, etc. Pretty funny.

Marvel announced yesterday that due to a bizarre contract deal having to do with the X-Men movies, they had actually lost the rights to the character Wolverine to 20th Century Fox. Pretty funny.

I still think the best April Fools prank Marvel ever pulled was a few years back, when they announced that Spider-Man had been re-classified as a mutant and would be joining the X-Men. They even got a well-known artist to draw up some sketches of his new X-Men uniform. That one fooled a LOT of people.

But first on earth, as Vampyre sent,
Thy corpse shall from its tomb be rent;
Then ghastly haunt the native place,
And suck the blood of all thy race;
There from thy daughter, sister, wife,
At midnight drain the stream of life;
Thy victims, ere they yet expire,
Shall know the demon for their sire

You know, strangely, I know a girl named Trixie who had webbed toes.

No April fools.

A Voltron reference, especially one to all that random unnecessary but AWESOME crap they did to make Voltron always makes me smile. To this day I still say 'Activate interlock!' whenever I'm working on something.

Besides the yearly No-Pants Subway Ride (and the Food Court Musical that was posted here a while ago), one of Improv Everywhere's best missions was the Best Game Ever. A little league baseball game was chosen at random and, with the help of the with league commissioner, hundreds of people showed up to watch the unsuspecting ten year-olds with signs, banners, mascots, and peanut vendors. They also enlisted the help of NBC Sports and the Goodyear Blimp to turn it into a major league experience.

As a sequel mission, they unveiled The Best Funeral Ever yesterday on Youtube, where the IE operatives crash a sparsely attended funeral to show respect for the dead and make the family feel better.

Both Youtube and their website were inundated for hours with horrified and angry comments until the creators admitted the whole thing had a hoax.

This October I'll be walking 60 miles in 3 days to raise money for cancer treatment and research. As a way to keep myself motivated and humble, I have decided to dedicate each mile to a different person who has fought cancer. Please PM me if there is someone who you would like me to dedicate a mile to. Thanks!
