PoolMan...I think it's great that you're "exploring new avenues in life, facing daunting challenges and discovering wonderful new passions" that's what life is pretty much about, it kinda makes this feel a bit less as a loss, but a loss nonetheless. I can only wish you the best of luck in your endeavors, and hope for a review now and again......I just remembered....who will host the Mutant Scavenger Hunts?!?! Will they stop? I love those, I can barely wait for the next one...*sniffle*...damn...you must pass the Scavenger Hunt Olympic flame to another Mutant, that is a tradition that must carry on forever, as a reminder of your Mutant-ish greatness. *bowing*

Poolman... you have always been a favorite Mutant. Not just because we share the status of Cannuck but because I have agreed with and enjoyed every single one of your reviews. I certainly hope to see you around the site and I wish you nothing but good fortune in your future endeavors.

Salut! eh?

Poolman, your Cannuckyness (hmm, I rather like that...."Cannuckyness) and general love for all things silly (specifically of the kilt persuasion) had always made me smile, and I hope your future is bright and holds much goodness in store for you. At the risk of sounding very cliche, I wish you luck and hope to see you pop up every once in a while. I only discovered MRFH a couple of months ago, but in that time you and the other mutants have truly become an integral part in my daily celebration of life and all that is happy.

Good luck, and God speed!

This seriously just bummed me out. Now there is not one canadian mutant but you were one of my favorites. Goodbye, oh great Poolman.

Poolman, you were always one of my favorite reviewers and I've always loved your posts on the message boards and how we agree on some things. I also respect you for messaging me about the whole tome green thing and wanting to work it out. You will be truly remembered.

Peace.

Wow dude.....

It's going to be a bit empty on the forum without the "canadian crippler" on board. Thanks Poolman for the great reviews, The sarcastic wit, your total willingness to rock the kilt, and for your mastery of the metric system.

Good night, and good luck.

...Wow. I'm at a loss. Losing our Canadian giant makes me feel really sad.

I hope you still hang out on the forums though, we'll still love you without the Mutant status. Don't forget, I'm in the Protection Program. (I never did get that bumper sticker, by the way)

Thank you for all the wonderful reviews and articles you've taken the time and effort to write. And thank you for doing the Scavenger Hunt at least one more time.

Best wishes, Sean!

EDIT:

What makes this more bearable is knowing that, as he said, Pooly won't completely leave us. We've awarded him a new special position of Mutant Emeritus, which allows him to fall into semi-retirement while still retaining the option to write reviews and articles when the passion reignites deep within his wintry heart. After nine years of giving enormous loads of time and effort to MRFH, I think he deserves this place of honor. Don't you?

I wrote the first part of this post after having only read the first part of the 'Au Revoir'. Yes, I definetly think the Poolman deserves this honor. Very much so.

Oh, man...:(

I mean, I know you won't be gone gone, but still...Lissa's right, this is the end of an era. An enormously entertaining era.

Sorry, I alliterate when I'm upset.

All the same, I wish you the best of luck in whatever you do, Sean. You're a class act.

Plus, the strongest of the remaining mutants will be able to use him as a Summon!

All joking aside--though not for very long--I find myself quoting Creek Johnson, to whom I may very well be related: "I ain't got the words."

Pooly, of all the mutants, I've always. . .suddenly come to the conclusion that I cannot adequately phrase my sentiment in such a way as to not agitate my own introverted homophobia, so just fill in whatever you like. Be sure to make it heartfelt and touching.

Perhaps it has something to do with the fact that I, much like Justin, am short and hairy, and am therefore drawn to those taller than myself. Or maybe it's that you're the only member of the MRFH crew with whom I've had any sort of extra-forumial communication.

I remember fondly a time when you responded to one of my e-mails by addressing me as your "favorite stalker." I was a bit taken aback at the time, unsure of what exactly I had done to create such an impression (Okay, one bouquet of black roses. Big deal), and alarmed at the prospect of competition, even if I was at the top of the heap. Nonetheless, it's a title I have worn like a badge of honor ever since.

In short, you will be sorely missed, by me, and by everyone whose opinion even slightly matters. So give 'em hell, Pooly. Unless you like 'em, in which case candy might be more appropriate.

...what? I go to the MRFH front page and the first thing I see...

Poolman, you will be missed. Does this mean I don't have a Canadian Buddha-man anymore?
