I barely made it through "Gerry". I did though. The end is great but the rest is junk excluding one scene.

I tuned out "Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon" halfway through. Just didn't like it.

I have a sad Shakespeare-fangirl squeeage for Kenneth Branagh Oh good, there's more than one of us out there. The sad thing is I'm sure I wouldn't like him in person, but one re-watching of Much Ado About Nothing later I'm putty in his hands and have somehow rented Shackleton again. (Though I would recommend Conspiracy - I had to watch it for school and it's very good.) Anyway, to get back on topic, I fell asleep during The Usual Suspects. I just found it boring.

Oh, PoolGirl is a big Branagh nut. She loves his Much Ado (and truth told, so do I), and she just about exploded when she learned that he was going to be in the Harry Potter movies. If we ever have a movie where he's featured alongside the Fiennes brothers, I may be rendered obsolete in my marriage.
On topic, I NEVER fall asleep or leave during a movie. At least, not one I've paid for. In the theater or on rental. I'll tough it out just so I can say I've survived it, if it's really bad.
PoolGirl, on the other hand, has fallen asleep each of the three times I've tried to watch Gladiator with her. A movie filled with oily, sweaty men engaged in gory swordfights is somehow not enough to captivate her attention.

This is because I am a dweeb. I also love Dead Again. I know this isn't a movie per se, but I'm having a hard time sitting through the last few episodes of Buffy Season 4. I'll do it b/c Sib2 and I paid to own it, but man, Where the Wild Things Are is an awful suckfest of an episode.

I didn't make it through Brannaugh's Hamlet the first time but had to later for class...I also didn't make it through "At First Site" with Val Kilmer, I wanted to be blind like the main character after that disaster.

My sister in-law rented it, and then she walked off saying, "I'll be right back." ...and wasn't. Well I'm not going to watch it alone - I didn't want to in the first place. ...She does that to me all the time, it drives me crazy! I too have much love for Kenneth Branagh, and due to that love have seen Frankenstein quite a few times. I will say that I thought it was more interesting than Frankenstein Unbound. *shivers*

Believe it or not, I thought Gladiator was just okay. Far from the worst movie I've ever seen, but could have used something more. Dunno. Here's a confession no Mutant should ever have to make: I can't make it through the Evil Dead movies (although Army of Darkness isn't so bad). It's not the movie itself that kills me, but the camera technique. That first-person shaky-camera- rushing through the woods bit gives me motion sickness every time

I've instituted a rule after several Kilmer-related disasters: now, I just don't watch a movie if he's in it. Simple as that. I have yet to make it through a single one of his movies. And it's not just him that turns me off - I'll be watching a movie and not enjoying it, then he pops up and I go, "Oh! That's why!" A list of movies I tried to watch before I instituted this rule: Top Gun, The Doors, Batman Forever, The Ghost and the Darkness, The Saint, Heat, and Spartan. The only possible kinda-okay exception is Prince of Egypt, but clearly I've got the good odds so far.

Kilmer movies that I like are Tombstone (awesome!), The Man Who Broke 1,000 Chains (drama!), Thunder Heart (Graham Greene!), and Top Secret (but only if you like really silly comedies!). Kill Me Again is okay if your into that particular type of movie, nothing earth shattering but watchable. And Willow, for it's cultness. That's about it. ...I love Graham Greene.

A Clockwork Orange. I rented that one and watched it at home, and completely passed out about halfway through.

Even though I love Al Pacino. I don't think i'm going to make it through "Dog Day Afternoon". Just not in the right mood.
