Speaking of "A Sound of Thunder" (Ray Bradbury short story), The Butterfly Effect probably deserves a nomination also. We went from "dinosaur hunt gone bad" to "angsty guy with too many familiy problems." Hmmm.

I had real issues with the movie adaptation of Circle of Friends, because the changed ending really changed the entire message of the book. I LOVE the book and I love the ending, and I really, really hated the ending of the movie.
I love the Princess Diaries movies, but they bear no resemblence to the books. What's really funny is Meg Cabot keeps having her character comment on them in her diaries. Hmmm. Now I'm in the mood to watch the first one again.
