Paul Newman
In any movie...but particularly Harper , The Long, Hot Summer and The Young Philidelphians. As my grandfather (WWII vet. and avid TCM watcher) would say, "They just don't make them like him anymore. There's a guy who was true to the same woman for almost 50 years and can race cars like a pro."
In Newman's own words concerning fidelity, "Why fool around with hamburger when you have steak at home?"
He's also started many charities. The man is a decent human being who also ranks in the coolness category with McQueen and Mitchum. The guy is the epitome of HOTT in my book.

Jennifer Tilly Elvira Mistress of the dark Monica Belucci The chick who played Juno in "The Descent" (She is QUITE limber)

Okay, I know I suck at this, but I need to put these out there. I have a thing for Jet Li, because he could kick anyone's butt and I love that. Justin Long in "Dodgeball" because he can't kick anyone's butt and I love that as well.
Basically I find that any guy who's funny or tough is a definate movie hottie.

Ohhhhh, Paul Newman. The fact that he's so fantastic in real life is such gravy. And thanks for reminding me of the steak/hamburger quote, I'd forgotten that. Clive Owen's the same way. My Clive Owen obsession is rather well documented on this board, so I don't think I really need to add more. I rather like his Fame Audit. And Ioan Griffudd, particularly as Horatio Hornblower. As different as it is from the books, I adore that streak of genius/leadership so evident. I was watching Master & Commander last night, and wondering why I love these sailing movies so much. I think it's because of the strong bonds of fraternity (not just frienship, but fraternity), which is essentially non-existent in any other story. Also, he's wicked hot. I think I need to watch King Arthur again.

I must add this woman to the list because she has the most striking eyes of any actress I have seen, and there in lies her hotness.
Claire Forlani
Oh, and referencing my Alexis Bledel in Sin City vote, the fact that they only colour her eyes a striking blue in that movie may have contributed to that infatuation.

I was watching Raiders of the Lost Ark tonight, and was struck by an astonishing observance. At the end of the movie, when Indy and Marion are tied up to the pole but before the Ark is actually opened, there are several shots of Harrison Ford from the side where he has significant stubble and his hair is slightly floppy.
He could be Clive Owen's twin in these shots. I assure you, watch and you'll agree. Methinks there's a method to my madness.

I have one more to add, Hugh Dancy in Elizabeth I as the Earl of Essex. Falls under the category of I've seen him before, but not really noticed him until now.

I've already seen Ella Enchanted, and King Arthur, but they didn't have that "Who's that guy?" effect.

Ha ha, I think sarahbot and I have the same taste. I'll see your Ioan Gruffudd and Clive Owens and raise you one Ewan McGregor. Ewan McGregor everyone! Love him.

I'll say Kate Beckinsale. She actually looked really good in the movie Click. I can watch her in the Pocahontas outfit all day. Also, Scarlett Johansson and Naomi Watts especially in Mulholland Drive and King Kong. Also, Maggie Cheung in the movie Hero. She was breathtaking in that movie as Flying Snow.

I'll add another vote for Ewan McGregor. I could so corrupt his wide-eyed and naive "Moulin Rouge!" persona - if I didn't know he was well and truly corrupted already. In a good way, I mean.
Plus:
Don't ask me why, James Purefoy in (of all things) "A Knight's Tale". Even in a very small role, he made Heath Ledger look like a complete lightweight.
Jake Gyllenhaal in "Brokeback Mountain" - the pre-mustache era. Shazaaaam! Someone done grew up mighty fine!
Andrew Lincoln in "Love, Actually". A man suffering in the throes of unrequited love is a man I want to comfort. It doesn't hurt that he's hotter than a very hot thing either.

I just watched "New Waterford Girl" (SEE THIS MOVIE) and, I can't be- lieeeeve I'm saying this, but I have a crush on Andrew McCarthy. A guy from the friggin' Brat Pack. And not even Brat Pack-era McCarthy. I think it's like Ewan - objectively, these pieces do not fit together to make a hearthrob. But there you have it. And Sue, I don't know what it is about James Purefoy in A Knight's Tale either. But at the end, when he's SPOILER knighting William SPOILER OVER, he's very sexy. I watched Vanity Fair because of him. That man needs more good roles. This: Shazaaaam! Someone done grew up mighty fine! 5 minutes straight of laughing, easy.
