I just saw this last night, in Nanaimo B.C with my best friends and I must admit this is a really great movie, The characters are likeable and is very powerful and Justin Timberlake actually acts (good) and plays a very likeable character. I found it similar to "Mean Creek" in alot ways such as: Having to deal with the consequences.
****and half stars out of 5.

I actually just commented on this in the "suggustions" topic.
I had NO interest in watching this movie, but it was a double feature showing with Smokin' Aces. I was SOOOO impressed with ALpha dogs, I got sucked into the story line, very powerful, great characters, and yeah, JT is surprisingly good in it!. Bonus is it appears (after some brief research on line) to follow the true story very closely, and where is happened is my neck of the woods (I live between Clairemont and Palm Springs both major settings in the movie).

I took it off. I am getting a smaller one instead. It was rather big and yes very distracting.

I've been wanting to see Alpha Dog sooooo bad!! I've heard nothing but great things about it for a long time. The problem is it's hard to get to a theatre for me these days. I'm a freshman in college and only upper classmen and commuters are allowed cars on campus. The theatre's only a couple blocks away but the trek would require crossing some major 8-lane roads in the snow right now.
But I'm definitely seeing this first chance I get!!!!!!!!! And I know it's stupid, but I still harbor feelings of extreme adoration towards JT. Not necessarily his music so much...
