I LOVED it. It was a fun movie to watch with my family and friends. I enjoyed every minute of it. Sure it was cheesy at some parts but it was a tolerant cheesy. I paticulary liked the past indiana Jones refs (And Star Wars? I could sworn I heard an R2-D2 scream in the cemetery and the possible han solo quote. Might be wrong).
SPOILERS:
Aliens did kind of piss me off just a bit but I forgave it quickly.
End Spoilers.
I'm pretty enthused about it.
Also Drew, on the "Indy stealing the hat away last minute thing" was a relief for me. Although according to IDMB; if a fifth one is made, IF, it'll have Mutt as the lead and Indy acting as Sean Connery did in Last Crusade. So I wouldn't breathe a sigh of relief quite yet.

Ooh, one thing that did bother me about it was how the whole movie had that weird fuzzy glow to it. I think that was used to try to cover up Aging Harrison Ford (since I would blame it on the CGI, but it happened even in parts where there was no CG), which I find kind of redundant since...well...we all know how old he is and how old he looks. There's not really any need to cover it up.
Also, as for people complaining about Cate Blanchett's accent, I think she did quite well, and I really don't think subtlety was what they were going for here. As for her character, I think it was about the same level of one-dimensional evilness as all the nazis were in Crusade and Raiders. And I liked her whole "We're going to steal your minds!" speech while Indy was looking at the skull.
And people complain about the ridiculous things in this movie, but I didn't find them to be any more ridiculous than things that happened in first three. Same thing with the aliens. How are they less believable than the ark, the Holy Grail, or magic stones? Not only that, but the use of aliens make sense from a writing standpoint. They work with the whole "this is our pulp hero, but out of his own time," thing they had going on, which I loved.
Anyways, now I desperately want ANOTHER Indy movie. KotCS got me all fired up! I'd like this to be the beginning of a whole new trilogy! Whoo! Except not with Shia as New Indy in the next ones. Because Harrison Ford is Indiana Jones. Nobody else will do.

The Indy movies are fun for their endings when all the bad guys blow up and a lot of questions are left over. Questions being left over gives us stuff to debate and makes us wonder.
I just think this one left a few too many questions unanswered...
Other than that I have few problems, other than no one in the car chase thought about firing the FORWARD GUN, except the bad guy. Also I can believe you can engineer a boat car that always surfaces, what I ca'nt believe is the RUSSIANS designing such a craft in the 1950s. Look at Russian designs. Do they ever, ever put the safety of the people in front of anything in any military design?
