If you had the awesome and strange power to compel a Hollywood studio to create ONE sequel for a movie you like -- under the assumption that they'd do a fairly good if not excellent job keeping with the spirit, characters and themes of the original -- what would it be?
** You can't choose a movie that already has a sequel or prequel **

That would be either Six String Samurai or About a Boy and his Dog.

I always thought a sequel to Idle hands would be funny. Another Austin Powers wouldn't be bad eaither.

Assuming a TV show doesn't count as a prequel, my number one choice would be a Serenity sequel.
Master & Commander: the Far Side of the World, Boondock Saints, and Highlander also rank up there.
What? What do you mean there were four Highlander sequels? I know not of what you speak!
(Denial. It ain't just a river in Egypt.)

I wouldn't mind another South Park movie. If it's half as good as the first, it would be well worth watching.
South Park: Biggest, Longest, and Uncut-est? Hmmm...

I think this post might make you happy! I know it's weird, but I'd like to see a Highwaymen prequel. Like I already said - I know. I know.

Equilibrium. If for no other reason than to patch up an extremely unsatisfying ending.

I think it'd be cool to see a Goonies remake/sequel.
And I second Oogie's thoughts on South Park.

Meet the Robinsons. I would love a sequel to that movie. So many more adventures to be adventured!
Also, Spinal Tap.

I know I'm probably about to be lynched, but I'd like to see the other two Riddick movies Vin Diesel had planned before he dropped off the face of the planet.

I would like to see a sequel or perhaps prequel to Pulp Fiction.
I would also love to see a Taxi Driver sequel.

I'd like to see a film about the Michelle Pfieffer version of Catwoman, and a Bill N Ted sequel about their reign over the world. Have you seen "A Mighty Wind"? Not a sequel, but it has the same cast playing a folk group.

I know it's not a cult film, but so help me I wanted to see a sequel to Sky High. Apparently the director and/or writers had a whole trilogy planned, but they never got the green light (they posted on an IMDB board about it I believe). They would have gone from saving the school, to saving the city, to saving the world or universe or something. I think it might have been pretty dang awesome, but I think I can guess why Disney wouldn't go for it. By the time the movies would have been done, the child stars would have no longer been child stars. And since when does Disney do movies solely about young adults? There's always a kid in there somewhere! *Sigh* Since the Harry Potter crew will be cracking their twenties by the time the whole series is done, maybe that'll show the Great Mouse! In other films, I've wondered what a sequel to The Hole would be like. Considering the revelations revealed in the ending, I'd be very interested to see what happened in the next stage of that person's life. What about Unbreakable? M. Night Shalyman basically wrote the origin story, which is often the hardest and sometimes most unrewarding part of a superhero story. If he knew he had a sequel to play with, perhaps the ending wouldn't have been so abrupt. It'd be kind of interesting to see the hero and villain try to duke it out in a real-world setting without throwing cars around, ya know?

I agree with LadyStarblade, Master & Commander is begging for a sequel.
