So, who else is stoked for the movie version of quite possibly the greatest comic ever written. Spoilers of the book are allowed. Has anyone else seen the costumes yet.

I have. I remember liking Rorshach and the Silk Spectre very much, but Ozymandias and Nite Owl didn't really impress me.

Zach Snyder said he wanted Nite Owl to look more scary. I can see why he'd want to do that as Nite Owls in the book was kind of lackluster but yet I prefer the books. Ozymandias didn't look as glorious as he should have.
The Comedian is the best looking in my opinion.
Also, the actors are really young to be playing middle aged vigalantes.

I get a slight Burton-Batman feel from just looking at the pictures. Rorshach looks amazing, just like the book. Snyder would be dead if he had altered him in any way. I don't really have a liking for Ozymanias' costuming though... It's a huge stretch from the depiction in the graphic novel.
Can't wait to see Dr. Manhattan.

The movie has its own account on Youtube and they've already posted a video about the set design. It looks pretty flippin' sweet: www.youtube.com/watch?v=sw4g0kmMelkI wasn't sure about a movie version of Watchmen when I first heard about it, but I'm kind of starting to get excited. Fingers crossed everyone...

The giant hourglass Jon creates on the moon is the deciding factor for me. Let's hope they stick close to the story too. I wwonder if they'll include any of the pirate comic book stuff. And yeah Ozymandis doesn't look as glorious as he should. The others look perfect though.

The Pirate Story is actually what sold me on the movie. Zack Snyder said that, logistically, it's not something they can put onscreen but they are filming the whole thing anyway (maybe creating is a better word--I'm not sure it's live action) because he knows that it's not something that should just be overlooked. I guess it's all going to be on the DVD.

They can ignore the pirate story and it won't really affect the movie too much. I just hope they keep rorschach's origin story intact. Oh yeah... Let's all cross our toes and hope that the book's ending remains untouched. (Spoiler)
I would HATE to see the gang save the day.

Going in to see The Dark Knight, I was stoked to finally be seeing the movie I had been looking forward to ever since the ending of Batman Begins. As good as I knew the movie would be, I was also relieved to know that my big wait was over.
Well, the Watchmen trailer saw to it that I had a new wait even before the movie got going.
I had been aware of the movie for a while, being a fan of the book from some years back. But I certainly had some doubts, considering that V for Vendetta was pretty cavalier about accuracy, and every other movie based on an Alan Moore book has generally ranged from train wreck to orbiting shuttle crash.
I still have some concerns about any movie adaptation of Watchmen (if you lose too many details, even the small ones, the story becomes diminished a bit), but at least I know the look and general aesthetics are hitting the nail on the head, maybe even (!) improving on the original. At the very least, I'm sure I'll be in for a cinematic treat come next March.
Note: my enjoyment of DK was in no way diminished, and I saw the movie and embarrassing 3 additional times over the summer. So there's no bad blood.
Oh yeah. The 3/6/9 release date for a movie with a big symbol of a clock counting up to 12 is the kind of genius/miracle that makes giddy.
