Ho-kay, troops- here's a thread devoted to any random thoughts you might have that maybe don't merit an entire thread, but whatever, you wanna get them out there anyway. For instance... 1) Could just be me, but tonight's second episode of the Simpsons -- the season finale -- was the funniest the show's been in years. I'm not one of those people who say the show's completely jumped the shark or anything, but I haven't found it as funny in recent times as in the earlier (3-10) years. Except for tonight, which (minus the last 45 seconds... man, they just can't end episodes anymore) was just freaking hilarious. Thoughts? "You can't do anything, Mom! This is the Catholic Church- chicks have no power here!" 2) Okay, advice for Seth MacFarlane? The giant chicken fighting Peter? Yeah, not funny. At all. The evil monkey that lives in Chris's closet works as a recurring gag because it takes 5, 10 seconds, tops. 2 minutes of Peter fighting a chicken is 2 minutes of bathroom break time. Also, the slam on Scrubs? Not a bad idea to get your own show back to as funny as it used to be, before you start mocking shows that still are. 3) Speaking of which, 2 days. Season 1 of Scrubs on DVD... oh, joygasm. Plus Pete and Pete, also on DVD. Oh, and something about a Star Wars movie in 4 days? Yeah, I'll catch you all again in a couple of weeks. Take it easy till then. -D

The finale to Star Trek Enterprise was horrid. I haven't watched the show since the second season, and whew, does it still stink.

Aw, I always like giant chicken fight scenes. What wasn't funny was the recurring vaudeville tumbler. Why they made that guy come back I'll never know.

I don't think the episode of Family Guy you are talking about aired in Canada yet because stupid Global aired stupid Survivor's stupid two hour season finale instead. Also I thought the ending of the Simpsons last night was okay, but maybe it's just because I miss Futurama too much.

I thought the whole lineup Sunday was the best all the shows have been in a while. The Simpsons felt pretty spot on, Family Guy felt like it had stopped trying as hard as I feel it has been, and American Dad! finally gave me consistant laughs. Hooray for a reason to watch TV again!

I have pretty much stopped watching shows on t.v. but wait untill they come on dvd instead. I just hate having to have the same time dedicated every week to one show. I also hate commercials. I really hate commercials. hate. hate. anywho, I haven't yet been able to watch any of the new Family Guy, how's it doin? I love it with an unhealthy passion and am afraid it will suck now. I did like the fighting chicken the first time though, upon repeated viewings it has become less funny.

I don't mean to double post, sorry. I am really peaved about the cancelation of Carnivale. I have only seen a couple episodes but it was so cool. Way more inventive and interesting than most of the shows on TV now. like Charmed. grumble...grumble.

The loss of Carnivale has made me mighty pissed as well. As does the cancellation of Dead Like Me. Those two were two of the only still running shows I watched (others being Six Feet Under, the Daily Show, and Survivor, pretty much) until HBO and Showtime pulled the plug, respectively. I was considering starting a thread about signing petitions for Carnivale, but since this thread exists, I'll just put two links here. www.petitionspot.com/petitions/savecarnivalenowwww.petitiononline.com/bbcarniv/petition.html

Here's something else that's making me angry with tv...this trend of rewriting songs for commercials. First there was the "Lime in the Coke, you nut". Truly horrible, it not only butchers the song but the use of "Coke, you nut" as a substitute for "coconut" made me roll my eyes until they bled. But still it was passable, because I knew it would be gone when the Lime Coke left. And then there was another commercial that used a rewritten song (I forget what the commercial was for or what song they used, sorry). Obviously it had little to no impact on me aside from the fact that I hoped this concept would not continue. But then today I witnessed yet another song-commercial travesty. They are using Rick James' "Superfreak" in the latest Old Navy commercial, and not only are the rewritten lyrics as lame as lame can get, but the singing is just mindnumbingly awful. I have seen that commercial about 5 times today and every time, I have to mute the tv so I do not hear it. And now that I think about it, Old Navy also used a reworked" Fame" in their commercials a while ago. This must stop now! NNNNOOOOWWWW! *deep breath* That felt good .

That other commercial, was it the Maxwell House one with the firemen singing Our House? Just curious.

*thinks*...no, I don't think so. I hope I don't see that one, though. *shudders*
