I don't know about anybody else in the mutant world but as a child and teen I religiously watched Spiderman, Batman, and Superman, and X-men the animated series'. you know, the amazing ones in the 90's and am excited beyond belief they are being released on DVD.
Was anybody else out there as hooked on these shows as I was? I have probably seen every episode of each of these shows many times. I only look for people to remember with because it seems most of my friends today either weren't allowed or didn't watch these fantastic shows.
P.S. Although Batman and Superman are out in nice DVD sets I am still waiting for good Spiderman sets and any X-men sets. is anybody else pissed at this?

I loved the Batman and X-Men series. They were just a cut above anything else any other American animation studios were doing at the time. Very stylish, well written, and well cast (yay Mark Hamill as the Joker!).
In other news, I cannot believe there's really no such thing as Saturday morning cartoons, and what IS left is all Japanese collecting/battling shows. Sheesh.

Batman: The Animated Series got to the heart of the character and distilled him down to his essence probably better than any portrayal in any medium so far. Yes, including comics, because they kept everything that worked from the comics and ditched whatever didn't. (And a lot of the stories they brought over, like The Laughing Fish, tranlated great from comics to animation.) I would truly have to rank it as one of the top 3 animated shows of all time, and it would definitely make the top 20 TV shows, period. Terrific animation, intense and emotional stories, and absolutely amazing voice casting. Great, great stuff.
Liked the X-Men cartoon a lot too, though it suffered a bit in comparison with Batman. Still good, though. Never really watched Spider-Man or Superman much. But man, you'd better believe I'm snatching up these B:TAS collections as fast as they're putting them out.

Have youse guys seen the new show The Batman, pretty slick but for some crazy, retarded reason, it's not on network TV (At least none of the channels I get) but I saw a couple episodes at my friends house, and it is very, very good. And also, what the gosh dang crap is ABC thinking about with their cartoons, half of them aren't even cartoons! I demand satisfaction!

I'm going to go with Animaniacs. Especially the one where Wakko spends the whole episode trying to find a place to pee. I guess I'm just intellectual like that.
I'll concur in regards to the greatness of X-Men & Batman. I still remember the themes from both.

Animaniacs are awesome... and of course, especially Pinky and the Brain... I've been hoping for a long time that they'd have some of the episodes on DVD, but haven't seen 'em come out.

I remember that one. It was good.
What was that series with the blue, genetically engineered people with four thumbs who tried to kill all the humans?

I know they used to have Animaniacs VHS tapes out, Duckie. I bought at least three of 'em for the kids but I think the ex got them in the divorce. One of them even had the classic Wakko-gotta-potty clip that Hucklebubba mentioned.

As far as Animaniacs go- back in college, one of my roommates had an mp3 of the song where Yakko named all the countries of the world, and would play it a minimum of once a day. As a result, to this day I still get strains of geographical goodness running through my head at completely random times. Scary. But educational!

PoolGirl is a teacher, and she once decided she was going to use the Countries of the World Song in a class. So she played it.
And played it.
And PLAYED it.
It's great the first couple of times, but boy, hear it more than that and you're looking for a way out.
