I wasn't going to post this until I was a verified member, but with the ongoing streaming of commercials on NBC, I figured I'd go ahead. I am incredibly excited for September 20th for two reasons. #1: Mallrats 10th Anniversary is released on DVD.. and chances are I'll be paying less for it than what I payed for the Mallrats DVD I own now. #2: My Name is Earl debuts on NBC, starring my all-time favorite, Jason Lee (Mallrats, Chasing Amy, Almost Famous..) All of what I've heard may very well be bull, but from what I understand, the pilot was incredibly well-received, and the network has very high hopes. (Didn't ABC have high hopes for Clerks Animated, though? Yeesh.) I'm a huge Jason Lee fan, and I'm really excited to see my favorite actor get launched into mainstream television. For pictures, trailers, synopsis, and a really cool intro with a voice-over by Jason, check out the NBC site. www.nbc.com/My_Name_Is_Earl/-'Mistie' Jessi

Now Jessi, you haven't posted anything else in over three weeks... are you sure you weren't just here to plug a show? Regardless, now that the show's actually on, a thread might not be a bad idea. Anybody watch it last night? I was busy coaching, but I tivo'd it and hope to get to it tonight. Reviews seem to be pretty good; my only concern is whether it'll last. One of the co-stars, Ethan Suplee, was interviewed on a local radio station this morning and was talking about reading the script and thinking that it didn't sound like a network show, it sounded like HBO. Couple that with USA Today drawing comparisons between it and Wonderfalls (another one of my favorites, also too cult-y to survive) and you start to wonder. Hopefully Jason Lee's star power and the fact that NBC really seems to be behind it in a way Fox didn't support Wonderfalls will save it from early cancellation. Anybody watch it? -D

I caught it last night. It still needs to work out the kinks, but practically every show in the history of shows has that problem. It definitely has promise. Jason Lee is great, as always, and that goth guy from the Butterfly Effect (Ethan whatever, I think) does a good job as his brother. Not really anything else to say, but I'm gonna keep watching it for sure.

My only problem with it? It was only 30 minutes of Jason Lee/Redneck awesomeness, and that's far too little for me.
I was trying to find the exact quote of Earl's narration when he discovers Karma from Carson Daly, but I can't find it or remember it perfectly. It was golden. When I find it, it's going somewhere special in my avatar.
