Fox has a murderous track record of great shows being cancelled too quickly. Firefly Undeclared The Tick Futurama Family Guy Mark I Arrested Development Of those, I've got 5 on DVD now. Still painful though. The Sopranos was supposed to be on Fox originally. Thank God (couldn't resist) it went to HBO to flourish. Hopefully AD moves to another network, because it is really popular amongst yuppies, and just about anyone else who has seen it. I'd add Greg the Bunny to that list. That show had a lot of promise. I hope to get the DVD for christmas.

Yyyyyyeaaaaahhh.... after what they did to my beloved Lexx and Farscape? I don't think so bud. I USED to think that Sci-Fi was the best channel of all time until that, now the title goes to Showtime Beyond! I am boycotting Sci-Fi!

Ah, it might not be dead just yet!
===========
Though there’s no official pick-up yet, Showtime has confirmed that they’re trying to buy “Arrested Development”, says The Hollywood Reporter.
Showtime president of entertainment Robert Greenblatt confirmed recent reports that the cable troupe was in negotiations with 20th Century Fox Television to pick up the Fox comedy but warned that no deal has been reached. "I always thought it was a better fit for a cable network than a broadcast network," Greenblatt said of "Arrested." "It really does fit in with a lot of things that we're doing."
While Greenblatt declined to get into the specifics of the negotiations, he noted that one crucial deal point hinged on the involvement of Mitch Hurwitz, creator and executive producer of "Arrested." Hurwitz has not decided whether he wants to continue working on the show given, as Greenblatt put it, the "emotional roller coaster" the series has been during its three-year run.

Don't forget Freaks and Geeks. I'm pretty sure FOX cancelled that one. On a Family Guy episode they do a list of tons of cancelled FOX shows. Personally, I'm praying night and day (whether or not God is listening) for "New Amsterdam" to stay safe.

Actually, Freaks and Geeks ran on NBC (although Fox Family picked it up in syndication). However, the equally rad Undeclared was indeed a Fox Cancellation Victim.
Both shows are like retroactive traps... they lie in wait, patiently looking for people to discover them and fall in love with them, only to reveal that AHA! they were cancelled years ago, and are never coming back.
Siiiiigh...

Never was the biggest fan of all of Fox's shows. In fact Opposite Sex was and is probably still my least favorite show ever. If that makes any sense. Oh, look, sometimes you run out of things to say in the middle of a conversation and you just have to repeat yourself and then the person you're talking to repeats herself. Ha. Ha. Ha. Oh, look, that's the only joke this softcore Fox-porn has. Ha.... (Gun to head.)
Regardless. Fox shames themselves with their amazing ability to try and be as much like Sony as possible. You may remember Sony is the company that likes to put our childhoods on a skewer and then hold us over some molten steel so our melting souls will make their war machines stronger. Don't ask. They do it. Sony has been STEADFAST in their refusal to put many, MANY shows I watched as a child on DVD.
Here's an idea, Fox. Take one of your Marvel adaptions and turn it into a movie trilogy. Oh, you did that? Well did you do the obvious thing and release the adaption on DVD? No? Why not? Too much money? Ok, here's an idea, Fox, wait for another company, like Sony, to make a trilogy about a Marvel adaption that you already made a cartoon of. OK. They did. Excellent. Did you release it on DVD? No? %#^@ IS THE MATTER WITH YOU. Do you not understand the power of impulse buying NOR nostalgia?
While we're on the subject, why has there been no talk of releasing Real Ghostbusters beyond the two lame DVDs with 4 episodes a pop? Someone told me this was brought up at a Sony press meeting and the head honcho there said "That's a children's show." Yeah, AND? Money is money. Besides, Spongebob is a children's show and you seem ok with releasing that. Even Filmation's lame-ass Ghost Busters cartoon is on DVD in its entirety. What do companies have against releasing their OWN SHOWS on DVD? It's not hard. You don't even have to hire writers! They should be jumping on this like it's the Writer's Strike bandwagon parade.
Idiots.

Well, I'll readily admit I know next to nothing about how this stuff works, but sometimes shows that seem like no-brainers get caught up in legal battles. The Adam West Batman series, for example, is trapped in limbo because ABC owns the episodes but Warner Brothers owns the Batman name (or something like that) and they can't come to terms. I'm not saying that the corporations are *not* trying enrage the masses, just that there are occasionally circumstances why these things never happen.
