Nope. They weren't. In my humble opinion.

How logical... If you haven't seen it, spare yourself. At least, until they release a Stewey's Greatest Hits compilation. He's the only amusing character on that show.

I would have to say "Futurama": it is the only one which is consistently and genuinely funny and did not rely on cheap gimmicks. "Family Guy" is a close second because it steals the more surreal humour from the middle seasons of the Simpsons. However, like "South Park", Family Guy relies on gimmickry for its humour. That's fine, really, but this is why I respect Futurama more

Haven't seen much Futurama - it's never on a good time for me to see it. One of the reasons I never saw it - Sunday night (I think). I used to go to school on Monday, and if I missed it then, I missed it after then too.
The Simpsons - an untouchable show. Perhaps the best comedy television series ever made.

The Simpsons - an untouchable show. Perhaps the best comedy television series ever made. For me, The Simpsons is like an ex that you had an amazing time with but the relationship simply ran its course and it ended. Now, even though you are no longer together, you still have a good friendship and remember some great times with equally great fondness. A part of you wishes you could go back to that time and that place in your life, however, you know that it is over and that you shouldn't go back, because anything that came after could only sully what had gone before. [and then that ex keeps calling you, keeps writing and hanging around, trying to keep alive a thing that has long passed and consequently, the carcass of which is starting to get extremely funky...]

For me, the episodes that were the best will never be less than great. Great episodes come and go, but they're always great. As for love of the show, I can see how some may love it less than they once did. But in my experience, most people love it forever. But if one person dated it, I can see where the awkwardness comes in...

I hate the way they are going with The Simpsons now. The episodes are horrible let downs. Hopefully the upcoming movie will go back to their roots.

If Sunday's the night of the new Simpsons, I still don't see it. But every series has to go down the toilet someday (except, apparently, Law & Order). I hear... I'm sure I'd still laugh if I could see it.

The episode with Ricky Gervais was absolute garbage. They still do some great episodes, but letting a pretty unfunny comedian write an episode of the show was a very bad idea. I think it needs to bow out gracefully, and soon.

It's really funny once you get into it. Plus if you caught an older episode they kind of suck. I've never even heard of the wrong coast.

What about Invader Zim and Aeon Flux?
A whole thread about adult oriented cartoons and noone has even mentioned those two. Shame on you.
Though if you don't have to limit yourself to American shows I would say Ghost in the shell - stand alone complex. I mean, how often do you get to see "Real" Science fiction that isn't just fluff in a tv show?
