That's the thing that bothers me about the GNs. You get all this cool back story they don't have time for on the show, but then the people who don't read them every week are just kinda left wondering "Who was that woman?" and "What happened to Eden?" They need to start including some of the more important GN information in the actual show. Ah! See, that explains a lot. I remember way - way - back I tried reading the online GN, but I could only get the first one to work (The one with Prof. Jr. rambling on about his grandmother *snore*). ANYWAY, I told myself I'd go and try it another time and... forgot all about it. You'd think the weekly reminder to check out the comic would sink in, but no. I'll have to see about remedying that. I thought it was interesting that Simone's father said, "Call me Charles." and then HRG (heh) said, "Call me Noah." Is that saying something about Peter? About how he's all full of compassion and hope and 'the stuff in the basement' that people just trust him and like him? Or, assuming Peter comes back, Noah will take on the role Charles had for Peter? Am I reading too much into it? Also, Charles had the same power as the kid in India it would seem. Yeah a night's sleep has me thinking Nathan won't come back, but I'd be really disappointed if Peter didn't come back. You know, since they kept bringing up the whole "He can survive" thing. Parkman can't die! His life has sucked so much up 'til now! Of course if he dies that'll mean the baby really is his - because the writers hate Parkman... I like how Hiro was all "bad ass" until Ando mentioned it and then he was all smiley. Made me laugh. Mama Petrelli is awesome.

I was a bit disappointed. Maybe I had it built up in my mind too much, but considering some of the awesome things this show has done this season, the finale seemed like it didn't quite live up.

Hiro in the past (finally!)? I hope we get to see some of that hinted at dinosaur stuff. Maybe I missed something in my rapid viewings of all the episodes on NBC's web page, but I thought that the dinosaur was only shown once, in Isaac's painting... and that was really the dinosaur from the Museum of Natural History, where he stole the sword. Was there another incident? Couldn't agree with you more... best show on TV right now, in my opinion...

Was there another incident? Isaac's painting is where the dinosaur was shown. I don't think it was the museum it was showing, and here's why: 1) Hiro didn't actually have the sword. Remember that Linderman had the real sword and the one at the museum was a wooden replica. 2) Hiro never unsheathed the replica inside the museum, making the scene in the painting of him holding a sword in front of the dinosaur impossible. 3) In the picture Ando isn't with him. Ando was at the museum and isn't in 1672 (I think that's the year, I know it's 1600 something), where Hiro is currently in the past. Maybe he's going to go farther back, in which case he'd still be Ando-less. 4) Going from memory, the background was an outside setting. Now, after all that, watch someone come along and prove me wrong...

There's a good wiki site that talks about this, and shows the painting versus the scene in the museum. While some things are slightly different (e.g., sword unsheathed in painting), the rest is pretty close... and when I had seen the scene in the museum, I immediately thought that was the event shown in the picture. While I'd love to see him battle a T-Rex, I've been thinking that we've already seen the prediction in the painting come to reality.

I absolutely loved the season finale. I was just darn happy that everyone finally stepped up. Hiro stepped up to his role as a Hero, Nathan stepped up and actually helped Peter, Claire stepped up and was actually proactive, Nikki stepped up...god, this episode was so cool!
I can't WAIT for next season!

Disclaimer: I like this show enough to watch it weekly.
Okay, we're all relatively intelligent individuals on this site. That's a given. So why aren't we all complaining just a little bit about how ridiculous the problems these "heroes" are facing?
Here's 3 of the problems I have with the show's plot:
1. Hiro can transcend time and space. Peter can probably do the same. Why was Peter exploding such a big issue? If something bad happens...they can just go back and change it. 2.*spoiler* Peter can fly and transcend space and time...so why did his brother have to fly him over the city? 3. Assuming Peter was the equivalent of a nuclear bomb...does anyone here know how much worse it is for a bomb to explode over a city vs. on the ground?
Alright, just had to get that out of my system. I accept that the show doesn't always make sense and that it is just for entertainment, but I really wish they'd try just a little bit harder to create real dilemmas.

Depends on how high up and how powerful it is. I believe the Hiroshima and Nagasaki bombs were air burst, but eventually you'd get so high up that the heat and shock waves wouldn't harm anyone on the ground. It would still stand a good chance of knocking out every microprocessor in the city though, shutting down emergency services for months. Depending on the power and altitude, it could fry the electonics in half the country.
I'd bet they would have knocked out a number of airliners in any case.
What I want to know is why HRG or Claire didn't bring tranquilizers. I mean, Peter wouldn't know it, but Claire shut Ted down once with a syringe. No reason to go blowing his head off quite so soon.

hilasophy, you're not the only one who noticed.
My theories: 1. As a kind of self defense mechanism, I don't question time travel in movies and shows. Doesn't make the way they handle it right, but I've just developed a, "Okay if that's the way you guys want to handle it, whatever." mindset.
2. Peter's body was so consumed with the one explosive power, and trying to contain it, that he was unable to try using any other powers. *shrugs* That's the best I could come up with.
3. Tell me about it. I just get eye rolling whenever I bring this up to the group of Heroes watchers in my part of the world, so I just didn't mention it.
Doc, yeah I didn't get why they went straight to the gun as opposed to traquilizer either. In fact, didn't they say with Ted that it would actually MAKE him explode?
Meh, still love it.
When all else fails there's a saying in my family: "It was in the script."
1,000th post! Whoohoo!

Ha ha, I like that phrase. I used your reasoning to rationalize the situation. But I just wish they would have actually vocalized the fact that Peter couldn't control his other powers at the time. I still like the show too.

IN RESPONSE TO ABOVE QUESTIONS: 1 - Peter's line to Nathan as he was going nuclear: "I can't control it. I can't do anything." This pretty much says he can't use his other abilities. 2 - They could go back in time, that's what Future Hiro had been trying to do all along. It was just easier to prevent it this time around, I guess. Save the trouble of having to deal with it later. 3 - I didn't get this, either. My theory is that the explosions can't all be radioactive. Otherwise, the Bennet home and everyone in the neighborhood should be mist. I think maybe some of the explosions might just be heat. That's the only explanation besides "it was in the script" I can think of. I don't know why they didn't use tranqs, either. Just one of those "it was in the script" things, I guess. And I ordered the DVDs on Amazon as well. So excited!!!!

I think maybe some of the explosions might just be heat. That's the only explanation besides "it was in the script" I can think of. The more I think on it, the more I think the writers just kinda played fast and loose with Ted's powers. At the Bennet's they can't shoot Ted because it'll make him explode. But shooting Peter is a great idea to keep him from exploding. After he's left home and the cops check out his house, there's still dangerous amounts of radiation. But in the future after the explosion, only five years later, Hiro is hiding out in Isaac's place. The same place that Hiro was in when he saw the explosion the first he went to the future, which was like right there. Not to mention that "Nathan" is holding a memorial ceremony right at the spot where the explosion happened. Another thought - how many angry landlords are there in New York you think? Everybody just runs and hides or gets killed and then the body is dumped. Then there's their abandoned stuff too. Broken leases, storage fees, security deposit, etc... I tell you, this saving the world stuff can get quite expensive. Along with "It was in the script" we use "Then there wouldn't be a movie." Example: "Geeze! If they would've just talked he wouldn't have left twenty years ago! Communications, people: It's not just something you get a degree in!" And then someone would say, "Then there wouldn't be a movie." Words O' Wisdom.

From Amazon.com: "...It's a different kind of "more" with Heroes: More characters. We already knew about Dania Ramirez (seen in The Sopranos) and Nicholas D'Agosto, who will play Claire the cheerleader's boyfriend. Today, six more were added, including David Anders (Sark from Alias) and Japanese pop star Eriko Tamura."
