Dead Like Me

Just wondering if there are any other Dead Like Me fans out there. Just bought Season 2 on DVD and am totally hooked at the moment! I hate that they cancelled this show after only 2 seasons.

For anyone who hasn't seen this show, it's about a girl named George who gets crushed by a flaming toilet seat and dies at 18. In addition to dealing with her own death, George also has to become a grim reaper. Reapers don't actually kill anyone, they are just told who's going to die and when, and then they take their souls by touching them (shaking hands, patting backs, etc.) This way the victim feels no pain when they die. It's an interesting show because the reapers still have to coexist with the living and get jobs and such. Twisted but comedic events unfold.

Anyway, thought this would make an interesting movie. Obviously a lot would have to be cut out from the basic plot, but I think it'd do well on the big screen.

I really liked this show too, especially Mandy Patinkin. The first time I ever saw it, I was unbelievably confused - she's dead, but other people see her? So, is she death? Why are we focussed on her family? Who's this blond chippy, and where do I recognize her from? (That would be from The Faculty, for those who were/would be as confused as I.) Obviously I started mid-season.

I agree, it seems unfair that this show was cancelled so soon. I thought following her family through the entire show was good, though at times her mom was so annoying I was praying for another space toilet collision.

When I had Showtime I watched the first season and loved it! This is one of the series that is on my To Own list.
