hey, i have a game boy advance, and i was thinking of buying the old school releases of legend of zelda and bomberman and excitebike. can anyone who has 'em already tell me if they're worthwhile to get (same old game, after all) or if the teeny tininess of the gb screen just encourages glacuoma. thanks!

I haven't seen 'em myself, but I've heard nothing but good things.
You can prevent tiny-graphics-related blindness with the Game Boy Player that hooks into the GameCube, a personal favourite of mine. If that's too pricey for you (it does require a GameCube, after all), there's actually a third party device (I forget the manufacturer) that hooks the GBA directly to the TV for play on the screen. No idea how well it works, but it's a thought.

I just can't believe the balls Nintendo has to re-release these titles (many of which have already been re-released in best-of titles, like the Mario Bros. games) on MULTIPLE cartridges (you could easily fit them all on one, most likely) and charge a hefty fee for what amounts to "Games I Could Probably Find And Play In Flash Animation Now".

From what I understand, you can get a flash cartridge from some (shady, I'm sure) third-party supplier and load those ROM's that you find on the internet that are oh-so-barely-and-infinitessimally-legal on it. And voila, free games from the internet on your Gameboy Advance. I also understand that the Gameboy Advance is powerful enough to handle ROMs for the NES and other platforms, as long as you can get 'em emulated right.

Yup you sure can make your own GBA cartridges. www.gameboy-advance.net/Personally I won't be buying any of the re-release games. I already own the original NES cartridges and I don't really need to play Zelda on the fly. On a slightly related note. Has anyone seen those cartridges that have like 4 episodes of a television show on them? You can watch them on your GBA. I've seen Sponge Bob, Fairly Odd Parents, and Powerpuff girls. I don't know why anyone would watch these on a GBA but I like the idea of Nintendo coming out with useless crap again. The world definately needs a new Power GLove.

actually i was at game crazy yesterday wishing i had a super scope 6 to play battleclash 1 & 2 again.
anyway i also bought zelda 2 again yesterday. and the lady there asked me the same thing. why'd i wanna buy this. and i said well..... ILL TELL YOU!
the thing about the old nintendo games is. the battery wears out on them. and if you played zelda 2 like me and u and everyone else did, the battery on them is basically shot. and unless u never took it out to play other games. the connectors on it is shot too.
plus zelda 2 is awesome. i dont know how i ever lived without it on my GBA.
also as to the shows. if the price ever goes down ima buy ninja turtles for it. i like ninja turtles.
anyway yea. i was gunna make my own post. but i saw this. so i'll just say
zelda 2 > all other oldies
unless kid icarus comes out in the US. which they dont know yet still i think. um castlevania looks good too. but who can beat them for 20 bucks. but now i have zelda 1, and zelda 2. and you can buy LTTP (link to the past) already. but i havnt seen it. hm. weird. im gunna have to look for that. i have this sudden urge to play it. then they rel-released zelda 4 (links awakening) for the gameboy color. it has a new level and the colors on it are really good.
so theres like 4 zelda games you can have for gameboy. not counting all the (imo crap) zelda games. so those 4 are like MUST OWN imo.
yea.....
excuse me i have to *ahem* excuse myself and play some zelda 2
