It's come to the management's attention that a one Mister Rich has had a distinct lack of, shall we say, British flavor in his reviews. Not a "tallywacker" or a "bloody" anything to be seen. This confuses and scares us, as we like to be able to immediately identify someone as from the British Isles by the usage of their language.
This petition is to urge Rich to get back in touch with his Brit roots and start peppering in those charming words and phrases we've come to love from Hugh Grant films.

I get the feeling that this'll be about as successful as the online petition to get Kirsten Dunst and Jake Gyllenhaal to make a sex tape, but you've got my support behind both anyways. They're noble, if futile, goals.

aaw bloody hell, you Yanks can't (pronounced c-aaah-nt) expect us Brits to live up to stereotypes.
Oh excuse me, my fair dinkum kangaroo has arrived. I've run out of vegemite and I need to go waltzing matilda down to the shops.
(I'm Australian and British, but grew up in neither region.)

Wait, does that mean next you'll ask me to start using southern euphomism and analogies in my forum postings?

No, no, you already have a fake-wrestling picture thing going on, that's all the Southern proof we need.

Rich writing in English-English? I'm all for it. English-English is quite awesome, because it's so...English...
Vegemite is awesome. Awesomely awesome.

You fools, you reckless fools.
Don't you have any idea of the danger you could be about to unleash?
Don't meddle with that you don't understand, lest you reap the bloody consequences of your actions...

Rich claims to have "no accent", you know.
Which, as anyone who has ever spoken to him knows, is tosh. The man is the living embodiment of British Northern-ness. Right down to the coal dust.
I, on the other hand, merely have non-localised English received pronunciation. As do all the best non-English Britons....
Vee - waits for the backlash. Damn Southerns.

Heh... well, the one time I actually talked to Rich on the phone, I was so surprised to hear his accent. He called me, and I thought it was Pooly putting on a very bad English accent. It was hard putting Rich's voice to his writings, since he does write more American than English. I blame the movies.

I blame television. American television, just in case anyone isn't clear on this, and mainly for being stacks better than our domestic stuff!

Funny, there are many Americans who love imported British TV. Myself included, but they don't do that where I'm living now.

I'm sure given the apparently insatiable appetite of the British television viewer for reality TV that we would embrace it wholeheartedly, but personally I was thinking more of Friends, ER, Fraiser, Third Rock, Will & Grace, Seinfield, 24, Ally McBeal, Sex & the City, and so on.
The only decent thing I can think of that we've produced recently is the Office...

Not a "tallywacker" or a "bloody" anything to be seen. Umm, Justin, do you know what a tallywacker is slang for in Britain?
