I liked the first Dune novel. It kept my interest pretty well. However, I thought they REALLY got slow and confusing as the series went on. Having just finished Dune, I even agree within the single book. It's a wonderful piece of fiction, but my god, it's just so slow in parts. But I was right, I had a much better appreciation for it as an adult.

I just finished reading this totally TOTALLY TOTALLY awesome book titled Detour: My Bipolar Road Trip in 4-D by a woman named Lizzie Simmon. It's non-fiction, but it reads better then most fictions.
Here's the run down, I won't give to much away.
Lizzie was a child actor, and a very astute performer. But she was a very depressed child, as you find out later. When she's in high school, she decides she wants to go to France to finish school (her family is well to do). But when she's there, despite how good she feels, things go wrong for her. She goes into a paranoid-delusional manic episode and, well, is crazy.
She's diagnosed Bipolar.
Later on, after coming home to the US (an interesting story in itself) she graduates from college and starts working in a Theatre (for plays). After a while she decides that she has to "find her herd" and sets out on an amazing trip across the US.
It's got so many interesting stories and anecdotes, and her style of writing is phenomenal. This is honestly one of the only books I'm actually going to read twice. I never do that, but this is just so awesome.
On the other hand, I'm still not done with a book I've been reading for damn-near four months now, the Celestine Prophecy. Surprises me that I'm taking so long, since it's an easy read for the most part.
