I've tried to download 'In A Gada Da Vida'.
I gave up after an hour of downloading.

Lately, I've been listening to Simon and Garfunkel's songs from The Graduate. Good stuff, especially "The Sounds of Silence."

Eric Clapton's "From the Cradle".
The fact that I'm a new father is mere coincidence.

Bright Eyes. And At the Drive In. And Longwave. I went to see Crooked Fingers (awesome, by the way) in early November, and the first opener was this dude named David Dondero. He was one of Connor Oberst's big influences, and you can hear that in his voice. He's got some cool songs--a couple of my favorites are "Real Tina Turner" and "Song for the Civil Engineer." If you like Bright Eyes, you should check him out. For about the past year, I've been on a big alt-country/indie rock kick. Here are some of my faves, and in no particular order: -The aforementioned Crooked Fingers -Ryan Adams and his prior Whiskeytown stuff -Tim Easton (his album "The Truth about Us" is on my top 10 list) -Bob Schneider (can do rauncy songs and sensitive songs in the same setlist) -Tift Merrit -Lucinda Williams (saw her this fall and she was fantastic) -Wilco -Mason Jennings -Firewater (Very eclectic stuff. As the promo for one of their album's said, "More bada** spy themes, ribald love-gone-wrong songs, and Mexican marching music than you can shake a stick at." They do a great live show).

Last night I just bought my second Melt-Banana CD. I rarely ever buy a bands CD, never the less two. I really like this band.
But I can't listen to them over and over or else I get a headache. They're japanese noize metal-punk crap stuff, but I really like it. Anyone else ever hear of them?

Does anyone here listen to Patty Griffin? She has to be one of the best artists around. She has a folksy/rock feel to her music. I highly recommend "Mary" and "Let him fly" (which was redone by the Dixie Chicks).
I also recommend anything by Joss Stone, especially "The Chokin Kind." What a voice.

I love that I've switched to a radio station that will actually play Yellow's "Oh Yeah", because a midday Ferris Bueller Trip is EXACTLY what the doctor ordered.
Bow bow. Chick. Chickah chickAHHHH.
Ooooooooooh yeah.

I also recommend anything by Joss Stone, especially "The Chokin Kind." What a voice. Her cover of The White Stripes "Fell In Love With A Boy" is absolutely fantastic. Anyone familiar with the original should listen to the cover for a wonderful alternate version of the song. My most recent CD purchases (and therefore, the CD's in heaviest rotation with me at the moment) are: DJ Format - Music for the Mature B-BoyThese guys, along with another band called Ugly Duckling, are the cool, introspective and softer side of Hip Hop. Very funny, very laid back. Electric Six - FireElectric Six are a very silly band, as you will know if you've seen the video's for their singles Danger! High Voltage!, Gay Bar or Dance Commander. Fire is a very silly album. But it's great as well. The Cooper Temple Clause - Kick Up The Fire, and Let The Flames Burn LooseAbsolutely top quality British indie guitar rock. This is such a good album its a real shame it didn't get bigger coverage. If you don't believe me, go download Promises, Promises, or Blind Pilots or, Talking To Brick Walls and prove me wrong. Oh, and for completeness sake, I'm actually currently listening to Nine Inch Nails - The Downward Spiral, because angry music is the best music for work right now. - Rich

I just downloaded Dimmu Borgir - Puritania... I suggest everyone follows suit.
If anyone is aware of CKY, I've just downloaded Brans Freestyle and now, shamefully know all the lyrics.
<Edit> Yay 100 posts!

My girlfriend recently told me about a new trend: Emo Rap. Sad pale white boys who rap about being sad and lonely.
Downloaded some tracks from one group. It was the funniest stuff I'd ever heard.
