Everyone put on your special Dave Barry brassieres, and come up with some good band names! I've got three so far, two of which have originated from this very board:
Pant Goblins Underpaid Ninjas Non-Sexual Boobies

Consumption Junction is a website, might run into problems if you try to make a real band out of it.
Anyway, a while back I made up some names that famous bands might have rejected, and I'll post that rather than exerting myself thinking of something else:
Van Halen --> Car Helloen
AC/DC --> Polarity
Counting Crows --> Tabulating Ravens
Live --> Dead
Phish --> Mollusk
Sister Hazel --> Brother Peanut
Deep Blue Something --> Chess Computer Nothing
Oar --> Paddle
Third Eye Blind --> Third Eye? You Freak!
U2 --> You too?
Weezer --> Asthmatic

My favorite is still "Free Beer." If you don't think that's brilliant, consider how most bands get their start- playing at bars in college towns. "Free Beer at the Crowbar!" I suspect that's how Barenaked Ladies got their name as well.
I also like the one that some of our high schoolers have- Kids With Issues.

I'm sorry... Dave Barry bras? Yep. Is that strange somehow? This reminds me of one of the best out-of-context phrases I ever learned from watching The Tick. "The Luftwaffe stole my girl!"

"Free Beer at the Crowbar!" I suspect that's how Barenaked Ladies got their name as well. I don't know if it's how they GOT their name, but I know the name actually got them a lot of press and trouble in their early days in Canada. They actually had a show cancelled by order of the mayor of Toronto because they had posted signs saying "Barenaked Ladies at the..." (whatever place it was) and the hall wasn't legally able to have strippers. Ooh! Canadian controversy!

3rd Degree Kathrine Hepburn Being John Vernon El Chupa-Cabaret and finally.... METAL ALERT BRACELET: an Old lady falls down and the camera goes in for a close up......with oscar-worthy conviction she pleads one, dire question directly to the camera...... " WHERE DID THE ROCK GO?" ......she begins weeping quietly to herself.... ...cut to the bracelet on her wrist... what's this?.....My god!!!....it....it GLOWS!!!!! Then the Band bursts through the wall ala Twisted Sister...... ....and truely we were ones who would not take it. no. not anymore. would we take it.

My favorite two are "AH! Monkey out of Nowhere!" from the Tick and "MMM.... unexplained bacon" from the Simpsons. Weird looks abound.
Sorry to hijack this thread guys, I just thought that was an interesting comment. ;D
