This is a little old now, but I thought I'd share it just in case anyone hasn't seen it: www.thewebshite.co.uk/nickelback.htmSomeone mixed together Nickleback's two hit singles so they play simultaneously, one out of each speaker. And as long suspected, they are exactly the same song. Truly outrageous.

I've shared this around with some friends, and believe me, one and all enjoyed it immensely. I have to get my brother to listen to it, he's actually in pretty tight with Chad Kroeger's group. Will he see the light? Or just wither in denial? Who knows?

There were a group of us going to Wal-Mart (Paris Hilton, eat your heart out) and we heard one of Nickelback's songs on the radio. A different one came on when we left, but we thought it was the same. Sad, really. I used to like "How You Remind Me", or whatever the title is.

I don't venture into this forum much, but I hit this link and I had to get up off the floor and wipe my eyes. That's terrific. In a truly obscene way.

I don't venture into this forum much BDC, I read this, looked at your post count, and said, "suuuurrrrrre, whatever you say." Then I figured that you probably meant the Music and Books forum, not MRFH in general ;D I usually read all the forums on here - the topics are always soooo off topic that you never know what you may find in any given thread. Take Sue's Road Warrior thread in the feedback section, for example... if you didn't read it, you'd have no idea that you might be able to use a drunken hitchhiker's brain for fuel in a pinch

Actually, I have to admit I don't spend a lot of time in the Music & Books or TV sections either. Not that I ignore them completely (Justin slams me everywhere, it's inescapable), but I tend to surf the General, the Movies, Video Games, MRFH Feedback, and the delectably off-limit MRFH Office mostly.

Ya know what's sad about Nickelback? I really, really, really liked them waaaaaaay back in, idunno, 2000 when they had "Leader of Men" on all the modern rock stations. That was a really good song, and somewhat different amongst the Limp Bizkit and Korn stuff that was fueling the rock stations back then. Then "How you Remind Me" came out, and I really liked that one, too! Then I heard it on the radio for the 12,755,211,400th time, and it just got old. And everything they've put out since seems to get old after three days of steady radio rotation.
If only Big Wreck would come back and bring me faith in Canadian rock again...

Forget Big Wreck, you want Big Sugar. But that's for another time.
Just curious, here. Nickelback brought a couple of other bands up through the ranks with them, but have been widely criticized for all of them sounding exactly the same. The groups I'm thinking of are Theory of a Dead Man and Default. Have those guys percolated into the US consciousness, too, or are they still just Canadian-known only?
It's uncanny... if you think Nickelback sounds like Nickelback, wait'll you hear Default.

I've heard Default. My friend burned Nickelback's "Silver Side Up" and Default's album at the time onto one CD, and I couldn't tell where one ended and the other began.

Forget Big Wreck, you want Big Sugar. But that's for another time. Oh no, the time is now. Tell me more! The groups I'm thinking of are Theory of a Dead Man and Default. Have those guys percolated into the US consciousness, too, or are they still just Canadian-known only? Back when I was working nearly full-time at a local rock station (jeez, already three years...) we were spinning both of those bands. Out of the two, Default got much further, and even got some play on the Top 40 stations with "Wasting my Time". Default sounded a lot like Nickelback, but this was back when "How You Remind Me" was first released and it was pretty fresh in my neck of the woods, so I liked that song, and still do. Their other singles didn't do anything for me, though. Theory of a Dead Man sounded too much like Creed to me. But then, a lot of bands sound like Creed to me. I would like to take this moment to hand out mad props to Canadian rock bands. My favorite thing about Canadian rock bands is the...errrrrr...unique stylings of their vocalists, and I mean that in a totally good and rocking way. Let's see... Singer from Big Wreck - check Singer from Default - check Chad Kroger from Nickelback - check Singer from Our Lady Peace - check Geddy Lee from Rush - check I mean, you can almost tell these guys are Canadian just because they sing totally differently from your regular, run-of-the-mill American rock bands. And on a total divergence, has anyone heard the stuff from Creed part deux? They're called Alterbridge or Ultrabridge or Alteredbeast or something. Creed kicks out Scott Stapp (vocals) and replaces him the dude from a band called Mayfield Four. Now, I was moderately impressed with Mayfield Four when they were out, so I really, really, really want to give them a chance. Any opinions out there? I've only heard their first single on really distant, statiky radio stations so I think I'm going to go download it tonight.

Oh no, the time is now. Tell me more! Okay! Big Sugar was (sadly, they JUST disbanded, but there's lots of material out there) a Canadian rock band that, as far as I know, never went south of the border. They were WEIRD... three white guys (one of whom tended to look a lot like Elvis) and a Jamaican bassist, who was very open about his "meditation". They were known for their extremely loud live shows, wherein they would regularly blow up Marshall amps. The lead singer, Gordie Johnson, just wasn't happy unless he played the first chord and it hit him hard in the back. But they have a very cool, laid back, rock/funk style that just NEVER fails to kick my ass. It's wicked driving music. I can't even think of an American comparison. Official Site... not the best I've ever seen, but it's a start. I highly recommend tracking them down. I would like to take this moment to hand out mad props to Canadian rock bands. My favorite thing about Canadian rock bands is the...errrrrr...unique stylings of their vocalists, and I mean that in a totally good and rocking way. I agree. I'd also add (whether you like them or not) Avril Lavigne, Alanis Morisette, and ESPECIALLY Barenaked Ladies to the list of unusual sounding vocalists from Canada. Oh, and Ian Thornley (former lead singer of Big Wreck) is pursuing a solo career, Dajaymann, if you're interested. I think he's even playing Vancouver soon. You might want to look into his new stuff. I always thought he sounded quite a bit like Chris Cornell (Soundgarden). (and the singer from Our Lady Peace is Raine Maida... interesting voice, but I can only take so much of it... OLP's later stuff got quite whiney) They're called Alterbridge or Ultrabridge or Alteredbeast or something. Alteredbeast... Wasn't that the videogame about Roman werewolves?
