Hey there, you fresh and funky kids. Some of you may have heard of Google's whacky new email service, Gmail, which is currently in its Beta test phase and is invite only to join; well, I've got some invites to give out, and all you need to do to get one is ask! Why would you want a Gmail account, I hear you cry? Well, its a GB a storage. That would probably take a million billion emails (scientifically accurate) to fiull before you had to delete any. Email conversations are filed together automatically, so ongoing correspondence with people is easy to read. You can also flag certain conversations to stay at the top of your email inbox so you know when someone has replied. All your emails are totally searchable using Google's own search engine if you can't find a specific email amongst your million billion undeleted emails. It's very spamproof. It's by invite only so it means you are a special important person if you have one So, if you want one of my (limited number of) invites, just post the email address you want me to send the invite to in this thread, and I'll get right on it; first come, first served, offer for a limited time only, operators are standing by. - Rich

Can we private message you instead? Because 1-my email address sounds really stupid and 2-I'm not too keen on posting my email on a public board where spambots can find it.

Right, thanks to some people PM'ing me, I'm now all out of invites; but if I get some more, I'll offer them up again.

Thank you, Rich!
How long did you have your account before they let you invite other people? My boyfriend really really wants one (don't ask me why he's so keen) and part of the reason I joined was so I could invite him.

Took me about 3 weeks or so to get my first batch of invites; I believe its based somewhat on your account usage (my gmail account is my main email account for private stuff now my other account has become the Spam Black Hole). - Rich

Hm... the Spam Black Hole. I like it. Plus, it sounds familiar. My canada.com account is now useless.
I guess this is as good a time as any to let y'all know I've changed emails (no idea if Justin's updated it on the front page yet) to:
poolman (at) mutantreviewers (dot) com
I think a couple of the other mutants took the mutantreviewers suffix too, but I forget who.

I'm one of the few poor souls who actually use hotmail as their main email account, and though it's been quite adequate over the last couple of years, it's starting to become tenuous to check it at least every two days and delete 120 spams (minimum). If I leave town for more than that, it's chock full and useless. And so...
dajaymann (at) hotmail (dot) com
I gotta dig Pooly's ingenious method of writing that.

Oh no... the Canadian border guards strike again! (As to why the cards are going through Canada- it's the US Postal system. What do you expect?)

it's starting to become tenuous to check it at least every two days and delete 120 spams (minimum). I'm sure you meant to say "tedious". Jay, if I may recommend, the Yahoo! mail Justin set me up with is incredible on the spam-blocking side. Seriously, I've really enjoyed it. In the first two weeks I've been using it, only one spam has gotten past the filters. Plus, it's very useable. I'm officially abandoning my old canada.com address in favour of the new one. I gotta dig Pooly's ingenious method of writing that. I'll send you the address you can send the royalties to.

I'm sure you meant to say "tedious". Naw, I meant to say "tenuous". Just another instance where my massive art history-paper-writing-vocabulary manifests itself and leads me astray. In other words, I just thought "tenuous" would sound good, and go with the flow of the sentence. Aside from that, I have little ideal what that word means, now that you mention it. It is for this reason that an Art History major can be spotted a mile away. We all talk at length, and have little ideal what we're really saying.

"He said they've already got one!"
"I told 'em we've already got one!"

"He said they've already got one!" "I told 'em we've already got one!" I like never knowing what you're talking about. It makes me feel strangely warm and content.
