Either you found the Spoiler Zone, or you are telling me the truth and I can't believe that you got a copy of Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince before I did!!!!!!!!!!! Because I KNOW what the first chapter is called and what the first sentence is and that that sentence makes sense to start the second chapter. And I know what's by that river! And I know who's in the house! And I know there's supposed to be a wierd mist! You had to have found the Spoiler Zone. Or a Walgreens.

Which would explain why you opened this thread up again to deliberately bait me, because I was going to when I had MY copy, which Amazon is delivering on Saturday because I am a good girl and don't have a copy early. You've been dying to dangle this knowledge in front of me and watch me whimper.

I'd bribe you, but by the time everything changed hands I'd have my own copy anyway.

Actually, I REALLY thought it would end up coming out right when I was due, so I'd be in labor the day I got it. Instead, the Goblet of Fire movie comes out around then, which isn't as big a deal. (Blasphemy on this site, I know, but it's not.) But I could have just seen Duckie being forced to read it to me as I'm giving birth....

"This is Buffy (or Trixie or Perki or whatever her name was) from Waldenbooks!"
"Yep?"
"I'm just calling to remind you that Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince will be released on Saturday-"
"Yep."
"-and that you've reserved a copy with us at forty percent off the cover price!"
"Yep."
"Aaaaaaaaaaand, for your convenience, we WILL be open at midnight!"
[Long silent pause.] "My....... convenience?"
[Another long silent pause.] "OfcourseyourbookwillremainatfortypercentoffthroughSundaysocanwelookforwardtoseeingyouthisweekend?"
"Yep."
"Great! Bye!" *click*

I don't know if I already mentioned this, but I think half of the GSE population walked over to the bookstore across the street and reserved a copy. We're all going to make our trek at 1 PM tomorrow right after lunch and have a reading circle immediately thereafter.

We're such dorks.

Well, the book was in our mailbox when I checked today... we must have missed the UPS driver put it there. So, anticlimactic morning at our place

I think Liss will have it done within the next few hours, so I'll be able to read it in the next week or so. And, I'm sure she'll keep asking me if I'm finished with it, so that she can talk about it.

One cool thing about Harry Potter, though... the girls next door didn't warm up to us when we moved in, because when our house was built, we had taken away the big mound of dirt they played on. So, we were the mean neighbors But, since then, they've found out about Lissa's obsession with all things Harry, and they've warmed up to us. They were at a pre-party last night, and came back with a puzzle and tattoo for Lissa.

My wife went and did the midnight pickup last night. Unfortunately, due to our move next weekend, she's been forced to spend more time packing than actually reading. But I know the second I'm back at work, she'll have finished it.

For the record, I already (twenty hours after official release) have a friend who's read it cover to cover. Jeepers, I want to read it too, people, but some sense, please!

I think Lissa had it finished in about 20 hours after it was officially released... which was only about 10 hours after we grabbed it from the mailbox.

I went out and mowed the lawn on Saturday, since I knew I wasn't gettin' any quality time until she was done with the book...

Well, just thought I whould put in a little message here as i finally have access to a computer now (grumble... summer job out in teh middle of nowhere). But if there is any thread I would love to joine the forum again on it is this one. I just finished the book about an hout ago and must say that it was excellent, i'm not mentioning favorite parts or anything due to spoilers but I must say that it has left me with great curiosity as it looks as though the next book will be quite unique. I'll wait patiently untill enough people finish the book so that we may discuss it spoiler-style.
