I just finished Anansi Boys and I liked it a lot more than I thought I would. Anansi didn't really do much for me in American Gods and the summaries I'd heard of didn't sound very appealing. But this book was a pleasant surprise. I was also expecting something more serious like American Gods, but this definitely seemed to be more in the tone of Good Omens.

I agree, it was a fun read. It actually turned darker than his reading would have led me to believe.
SPOILERS for Anansi Boys follow, in case you're reading (highlight to read):
Things like Graham Coats developing a taste for blood, or (especially) Spider having his tongue torn out and making the spider out of dust and his own blood... THAT was unexpected for a book that had read so Adams-y until that point

I really liked the Sandman comics..I truly hope that no one (Brian Singer) decides to do movies.
