yesterday, it was "don't worry, baby" by the beach boys. i'm thinking it's because i was stressing over a couple current relationships, and trying to determine which course would bring me the most happiness and contentment.
today, it's "beautiful" by christina aguilera. i think it's because elvis costello did a cover version for the show "house" but i couldn't find it so i downloaded the christina original and now i LOVE it.
getting a song stuck in your head is not only fun (and annoying sometimes, too) but often means something. right?

does anyone else think those guinness cheesehead commercials are brilliant?
BECAUSE THEY ARE.

"I'm a sweet transvestite" from Rocky Horror Picture Show. Be careful when singing this one to yourself in public.

"Family Affair" by Sly and the Family Stone
and
"Dancing in the Moonlight" by Thin Lizzy
And it's been freaking *days* that I've been hearing them. It's making me nuts.

For me, it's Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star... our son was given a toy aquarium that plays this (as well as some other song which is just as addictive). It really soothes him, so we spread him out on the blanket and turn it on. I sometimes hear it in the shower, and I KNOW it's because it's playing in my head, because it's downstairs and turned off. I just hope he doesn't grow up to like boy bands or country music

On Saturday morning, I had "Yellow Submarine" stuck in my head. This then lead into "Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band." Then that night at dinner I had the theme from "Reading Rainbow" stuck in my head.
It was an odd day.

"All These Things That I've Done" by the Killers, because of that one line "I've got soul, but I'm not a soldier..." The endless repetition of the line in my head has caused me to invent new variations and inflict them on unsuspecting Siblings 1 and 2:
I've got saws but I'm not a sawyer I've got hose but I'm not a hoser I've got clothes but I'm not a closer I've got weights but I'm not a waiter And so on.
Also the old Mystery Science Theater theme song: "In the not-too-distant future, next Sunday A.D....." mostly because I tend to hear it at least once a week.

I've got hose but I'm not a hoser EVERYBODY'S a hoser at heart. So sayeth Bob and Doug. For me, it's "I Want a Hippopotamus For Christmas". It's been featured heavily in local TV and radio ads for the phone company, and they've started playing it (full length) on the radio, too. It's gotten to the point that it's a requested song.

Landslide. Oh well, there are worse songs I could have jammed in the gray matter.

"Jolene" by Dolly Parton. Which is actually a pretty good song. Consider it the song of my life.

Last night I was watching Band of Brothers with my girlfriend, and halfway through I started whistling the theme out of nowhere. It wasn't in time with the music or anything. Now that I wrote it, it's stuck in my head. Damn leaving DVD menus on for too long.

I have 'Hooray for Captain Spaulding' stuck in my head. Unfortunately, I don't know most of the words so the same ones keep repeating and I started singing it out loud during lunch, which made my family look at me a bit strangely.

I'm not sure if it counts, but I've been listening to Twisted Sister's "Stay Hungry" album a lot lately (even though I've owned it for a few years now). At first it was just to listen to "We're Not Gonna Take It", but the whole album rocks so much.

Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds by the Beatles. That song is so trippy.
