As a fan of political music, I think hip hop is more potent politically than rock these days, particularly because many hip hop artists are coming from poor backgrounds and their music reflects the environment they were raised in... though mainstream hip hop mostly sucks, and the really good, creative, political hip hop is indie. Agreed. Here's a little story for you; My girlfriend hates rap and how its all "Yo! Dancers get nekkid and pop yo ass!", basically making rap songs that objectify women. My girlfriend also loves Motley Crue who have a t*t cam at their concerts and basically making songs that objectify women. I'll counter both arguments with Exhibit A "Public Enemy" and Exhibit B "Rage Against The Machine". So, to close my argument, ANY form/genre of music can be derivative but not all music from that genre is. yeah there are most definitely rockers that are equally misogynist.. Motley Crue, Guns n' Roses etc along with rock bands that glorify violence. For hip hop I think it was just the particular style of hip hop that became popular in the mainstream.. came to represent all hip hop. I love both Public Enemy and Rage... Rage I would argue has been as influenced by rap as they have by rock/metal

There was a local band that was called the Obsessed Defromed Bullfrogs. The name kind of says it all, but they have a bit of a cult following in these here parts so I can't really talk about them much.

worst I've ever heard live was probably In This Moment. They were opening for Megadeth, and I got to the show an hour late in hopes of missing some of the garbage opening acts, but to no avail. Thankfully, Megadeth was absolutely amazing.

I hate most bands. But almost every band has at least 1 song I like. Even Lindsay Lohan. Yep, even her (she had some band doing rock on a lot of her songs). I can't deny when I like a song, no matter who sings it.
