A while ago I made a thread called best 80's one hit wonders. Well, this is a continuation of that. Personally I think that Sex and Candy by Marcy Playground is the best.

"Closer to Free" by the Bodeans, and definitely "I'll Be There For You" by the Rembrandts would find a place in there.
You could argue the Gin Blossoms too, but they really had at least 4 or 5 songs get airplay, and the Spin Doctors had 2 ("Two Princes" and "Little Miss Can't Be Wrong"). Blues Traveller had a few as well.

Bittersweet Symphony by The Verve.
I was going to say I'm Gonna Be (500 miles) by The Proclaimers, but the actual song was written in '88, even though it became a hit after Benny and Joon came out in '93.

I think Crash Test Dummies sure qualify as a one-hit wonder

Sounds like someone was into "Party of Five" and "Friends" In all honesty, I don't think I've seen a single minute of Party of Five. But I do seem to recall once or twice listening to the theme song before switching the channel. Heh. -D

"You Get What You Give" by New Radicals is among my favorites of the 90s. I also agree with Crash Test Dummies.
Oh, and "Jump Around" by House of Pain.

I never saw "Party of Five" either, but knew the theme song well. The BoDeans actually reminded me of the Badlees, a local band crom central PA, another one-hit wonder from the 90's.
I defintely also agree with Oogie that New Radicals were one of the best one-hit wonders of the 90's. For me, it was "Someday We'll know" that became my favorite New Radicals Song, after playing "You Get What You Give" into the ground.

A Girl Like You by Edwyn Collins. In terms of songs having that title, the one belonging to The Smithereens and hailing from '89 always comes to my mind first. Was this a cover or a totally different song? "Closer to Free" by the Bodeans, and definitely "I'll Be There For You" by the Rembrandts would find a place in there. Those are very nearly the same song. Okay, I'm going to go semi-obscure and nominate Martin Page's "In the House of Stone and Light," possibly the most religiously-inclusive song ever penned, and one of my favorites from the decade of whatever the 90s was the decade of. Decade of no definable traits? I don't think it ever got higher than somewhere in the teens on the Top 40 chart, but I remember it getting substantial airplay. I'd also like to nominate Hootie and the Blowfish for the one-album wonder award.

Was this a cover or a totally different song? Same title, completely different song. It's off the Empire Records soundtrack, the Gina/Rex Manning/counting-room-scene, to be specific.

Six Underground by the Sneaker Pimps...they had Spin Spin Sugar, but I'd still consider them in this category.

Fiona Apple - Shadowboxer I probably would've gone with Criminal for her, but the rest of that list is damn solid... well done, man. Trying to remember- who was the band that did Dizz Knee Land? EDIT: Ah, it was Dada. -D

I wouldn't say the Verve were exactly one hit wonders. Apart from Bittersweet Symphony they also had hits (at least in the U.K) with lucky man, the drugs don't work and sonnet (one of my favourite songs) all from the same album. I urge you to check them out if you haven't heard the songs before.
"4 non blondes - whats up" and "New Radicals - You get what you give" were the two that immediately sprung to mind for me.
