An interesting and funny piece throughout, but I hate to break something to our English friend. Arnold cannot run for President. You have to be a naturally-born US citizen to do that. It's in the Constitution. Or the Bible.... um, yeah, the Constitution.

Anyways, yes, that is true. It has been widely speculated for about 15 years now (and I'm not making this up) that Ahnold would push for an Amendment to "fix" this problem.

The entire musings was fun to read.  That and the amendment isn't going to be passing anytime soon. There are bigger problems that Congress is concerned with.  |

Okay, so here's the idea. I'm running for governer of Califonia on the Crazy-Idiot ticket. Well, at least I'm being honest, heh heh. My ideas include, but are not limited to...
A) Obtaining all nuclear bombs in the USA
B) Blowing up Texas with them
C) Giving actors extra money
and
D) Wasting $100 billion on a government movie. We'll call it...THE $100 BILLION MOVIE!!!!!
I bet someone could win on that ticket. Heh heh...

I am from California originally. Now living in Japan (military).
Just have to say. Just when I though no one could get stupider than Minnesota electing "The Body". Along came Florida with the "Who did we vote for again?" electoral process. Now it seems that California is going to beat them both for the coveted "We're the dumbest state" award.

IIRC, an amendment can also be passed by referendum or by group action of a majority (2/3?) of state legislatures. Congress doesn't have to do anything.
