Why do you read an etiquette forum?

The biggest question is where she found a forum on ettiquete. Is there really that much to discuss?

It's like little kids, honestly. "Don't ask why." "Why?" ::sigh:: It's actually quite a boring reason. I got hooked on this site www.etiquettehell.com back when we were planning our wedding. Some of the stories on there are just horrible. Sad thing is, most are true. Anyway, a forum got started, and out of curiousity, I looked. It's new, and I keep telling myself I have to stop looking, because it's amazing how petty people can get over certain things. But it's like a train wreck.

I can find the reply button but I'm too drunk to fing "modify." Fun times. Anyway:
Like that time in middle school when they had a dance during school hours to reward us for good behavior, but would not allow us to stand by the back wall.
Me: "Why can't we stand by the back wall?" Vice Principal: "Becaue I said so." Me: "But why?" VP: "Sometimes you gotta do what you're told." Me: "Soooo...why?"
We never had another dance.

Ignoring Doc's drunken ramblings... I believe that these forums are a success due to the people that come back to read your reviews daily. Where PA may be a funny site, its primary content is a visually appealing cartoon that can be read in 3 seconds, perfect for Generation ADD. However, your site's main content rivals the collected works of Tolstoy in length, and as such, the people that come back for the content generally have a faint idea of who Tolstoy is (I think he was a writer of some sort, probably British) ;D. The end result being that the people that transfer from your content to your forums are going to be the same ones that continually come back for your content. People that have higher than an 8th grade vocabulary and don't think monogamy is some kind of wood. "Remember kids, spell check is your friend."

your site's main content rivals the collected works of Tolstoy in length I don't know whether to laugh or cry, being one of the primary (longwinded) offenders. "Remember kids, spell check is your friend." I hear tell that Justin is quietly cleaning up all of DnaError's old spelling mistakes... a project that should only take until his 40th birthday.

I've checked out that site too, and found it quite amusing since I've actually gone through a wedding and actually was the one being wedded. Great stuff to compare notes with.

You know what Blade, you just answered a question I've asked myself ever since I joined here. The only forums that even became close to rivaling this one in its overall coolness were the Warhammer 40k forums. It's all about what the forums are about, because not too many annoying people have the patience to be into Warhammer 40k. The other forums I sometimes visit have to do with an anime I'm addicted to, and I'll tell you, I see some people on there who are just horrible.
