After reviewing your site, I am growing more and more interested in your philsosophy, and I was wondering if you would mind if I began my own movie review site. Now I'm sure you have no problem with that, but here is the probable sticking point: would you mind if I used your format? Not the graphics mind you, just the layout (i.e. the various section names, etc.). I hope you do not consider this an affront to your hard work, I myself would consider it an honor, and would consider such a site as a "fan site". ;D So, whaddya say?  |

I think you gotta be careful where the line is between "homage" and "complete rip-off". Not just because we don't want what little shreds of originality we have dilluted, but for you as well -- you'd want your work to be as distinctive and creative as possible. Start from scratch and create a format for reviews that is uniquely you, double R's and all.
The best of luck with your own site, I really do wish you well in that. Let us know when it's up so we can check it out.

Doesn't mean no, just means... it'd be better for you and for us if you didn't outright lift our format, but came up with your own. But the fact that you'd want to and that we might have something to do with getting you interested in writing reviews is quite honoring in itself.

I keep toying with the idea of doing my own reviews, but seeing as how I never get around to updating my jokes website--for which the content is copy and paste from the word file I copied and pasted to when I first stole the joke--I don't think it'll happen anytime soon. But maybe, I am getting netflix next year.

Well as you might have noticed from the General Board, I finally did it, made my own review pages. I would really like to get the Mutant's opinion of the format. The only thing I 'borrowed' from your format is the caption idea, which I'm pretty sure has been done by others as well. Below is a link to the site, please check it out!
