Even from the perspective of someone who's seen alot of bollywood movies, this one was crap.

But not all of em are! As much of India's population is poor, escapist entertainment is what the people want. Pooly, in defence of bollywood, you'd have to dig for flicks with any sorta thematic depth, (though there are some great ones) but for sheer entertainment there's nothin better.

There is a growing indie scene, thats put out some great serious cinema (though sadly those are harder to get your hands on than indie movies from here).

I guess I could have been clearer in my review of B/H, but I don't in any way frown upon Bollywood as a whole. On the contrary, it's entertaining stuff. The gal I mentioned who I saw it with is a Bollywood freak, very into the whole culture (she's a white Canadian). The problem is that even she couldn't see the point of B/H.

I also want to state that two of the best parties I've ever been to in my life were Sikh wedding receptions. Holy cow, those are fun. And knowing the size of these things (600+ people!), and their locations, there's a good chance FunkyMartini and I have been in the same room dancing to the same bangra. Ah yes.

So... J, you ever going to fix the captions? Come on man, I don't have all day, here!
