Drew's just upset he missed out on this week's Mussolini Monday (Jell-o shots!) Yeah, but I'm already gearing up for Vlad Tepes Tuesday. Love that shish-kabob! -D

Long winded good point that I actually agree with. I know. I just hate stoners. I like to depress them by making them think they're Neo-Nazis for doing what they do on 4/20. %#^#ing hate stoners. Edit: Oh and Kat. I still think Dark Crystal is the most disturbing movie of all time. Partly, if NOT ENTIRELY because it's all puppets that get killed in amazingly diverse ways. I still have trouble looking back on it. What part of 'The large, 9 foot tall trolls strap the 1/2 foot tall furry forest critters into the life-sucking device which then shoots a laser into their eye and fries their brain from the inside' gets the 'PG all kids can see it' approval? I mean really. If you're the director and you find yourself shouting "I'm not believing the look of PAIN on his face, Jim!!" shouldn't you rethink your target audience?

Star Gate The Fifth Element The Mummy George of the Jungle "George" is the one I'm most embarassed about, but I can't help liking it. It's cute, it never takes itself seriously, and I really like Brendan Fraser. There are so many big heads in Hollywood, the unassuming ones (like Brandan Fraser, Alan Tudyk) really stand out. He'd make a great big brother. Ditto about George of the Jungle. Every time I rewatch it I assume all the silly jokes I liked when I was 10 won't crack me up anymore, and they still do. The whole "awwwww"/"awe" thing? Priceless!

I would like to stand up at this point and affirm my love for "Howard the Duck". Too long have we who love this utterly pointless film (both of us) been forced into silence! No more! I love it and I don't feel the least bit guilty about it!! *sits back down amidst sound of crickets*
EDIT: I probably didn't need to be quite so dramatic there, but I really do love "Howard the Duck".

Newsies Blade Underworld Constantine
Pretty much any movie that has supernatural stuff in it and takes itself way too seriously, I am guaranteed to love. Oh, and movies with singing and dancing newsboys. That too.
Oh, yeah, and School of Rock. Because I'm totally lame.

Despite getting fairly universal horrible reviews, I absolutely love Kung Pow: Enter the Fist. It's full of bad jokes, stupid humor (which I usually despise) and plenty of one-liners. It won me over when they overdubbed the dog barking.
I'm also a big fan of Brain Donors starring John Turturro. It basically a Marx Brothers homage/rip off, but it works.
My childhood favorites that I still watch are Labyrinth, Neverending Story, and Krull. And I sorta kinda own Leonard: Part 6...
Oh, and I think I was the only person on the planet looking forward to the release of Mannequin 2: On the Move on DVD last week.

I'm puzzled by everyone listing Labyrinth as a "guilty pleasure." To me that would indicate there is someone, somewhere on God's green earth who does not consider that movie fully the cat's ass, and such is most assuredly not the case.
As for my guilty pleasure movies, I'll watch Independence Day, Teen Wolf, and Varsity Blues any time they're on, no questions asked. And since it was mentioned (welcome, ThatGuy!), I used to watch Mannequin 2 as a kid all the time.

Long-winded Henson hating. Sorry Rett, didn't mean to bring up any childhood fears. I guess I just don't get traumatized that easily. BTW, were any hated dictators/mass murderers born today? I got a QP I wanted to blaze up

Well, Emilio Estevez began his reign of terror today in 1962.

I know I'm way too old for it now, but I still watch The Land Before Time every now and then. After all this time, it's still the perfect anti-stress movie for me, and it's also quite handy whenever I'm in a nostalgic mood (and baby Littlefoot is still the cutest thing known to man). Another guilty pleasure of mine is Moonchild. It's completely cheesy, takes itself way too seriously at times, most of the special effects are questionable, and a fair bit of it consists of nothing but people endlessly shooting at one another, but it's just so much fun! Also, despite all of its downfalls, the film's concept is still intriguing, and the unintentional comedy is brilliant! XD

My pointer was totally hovering above the QUOTE button beside ThatGuy's post, but I just happened to glance down and see that you wrote almost word for word the same thing I was thinking. The Labyrinth is one of my favorites of all time and I've never met a person who didn't feel the same. We all just love to chilly down with the wild gang. You know, 'cause when your thing gets wild you chilly down, chilly down..... Okay I think I just crossed the line. Apologies.
