Hey, when do I get a mod hat? Do I have to send off for one? Are cereal box UPCs involved?

I'm going to back up CheshireKat here. If you meant that as a joke, it was in poor taste and poorly executed. If it wasn't meant as a joke, congratulations, you just threatened a black belt and caught the attention of the mods and admin. Don't go there again. *best Randy Savage voice* ooooooooooOOOOOooooyeah! Time to lay the SMACK DOWN Sue! ;D

Iron Man is a lot more interesting than me. Talk about him more, please.

Just saw Iron Man...Monday? Yes, Monday. I have to say that I enjoyed it quite a lot. I think it's just below X2 and Batman Begins as far as my favorites go.
Also, Robert Downey Jr. is very hot in this movie. This hasn't been said yet, I think, and I believe it can't be said enough. My god. The blacksmithing scene...*blisses*
T-How also looked pretty darn sharp as well.
I particularly liked how Stark didn't get the girl at the end. And it was due to her decision, not his *glares at Spiderman.* I now remember that Batman didn't really get the girl at the end of Begins...but I hate Katie Holmes so I'm going to forget any merits of that part.
Anyways, I'm sure Stark and Pepper will get together in the sequel (if she doesn't get fridged), but I can at least be pleased at the moment.

Last time I checked (played), Little Mac won that fight. My memory's not what it used to be, but I'm pretty sure the entire earth was destroyed.

I finally saw Iron Man yesterday, and while I came out exceedingly happy with the final product, I'm really tiring of the formula.
SPOILERS!
Okay, I'm fully supportive of the fact that RDJ was perfect as Tony, and Gwyneth Paltrow was a fun Pepper. I'm not a seroius fan of the comic, but I'm familiar enough to know that the casting was solid. The way they flirt without crossing the line permanently is fun and likeable, and leaves room for more in the inevitable sequels.
The armour is great, at all stages. I liked the clumsy nature of the first armour from the cave, and how Tony obviously was winging it. The guy getting the drop on him and then inadvertendly shooting himself was brilliantly funny.
The testing sequences were great. Seeing Tony smoke himself into the wall, a gag I could see coming a mile away, still made me laugh like an idiot. And I appreciate that fact that Tony's grittier than a lot of movie superheroes... dropping the terrorist in the middle of the village he was just pillaging with no defenses was great.
What I'm all too aware of, though, is that this is one more of a series of superhero movies that follows the formula to the point of predictability. Hero begins his tale rather inwardly focussed and self absorbed. Hero learns a key lesson about life through the death of a mentor/family member. Hero develops pwer set and/or alter ego. Hero clumsily bursts onto the crimefighting scene, has his ass kicked, and finally wins a battle against a hastily thrown in supervillain. Hero vogues, usually against a cityscape or the moon. Preferably both.
Now, did I just describe Spider Man, Batman Begins, or Iron Man?
I love all three of those movies, but what I'm finding is that while I typically enjoy the "origin" movies, they are extemely formulaic, and the sequels are rarely as enjoyable.
Thoughts?
ETA: SAMMY L JACKSON! How has nobody commented on this?
