Because I'm very short on time this month, I'm asking that any of you with free time on their hands and a desire to see a favorite movie showcased as our header banner for July help out.
Very simple -- find me pictures on the internet from that movie that you think might make a great cropped banner. Big pictures, at least 700 pixels wide. Screencaps, posters, what have you.
They have to be of a movie we've already covered on MRFH, so that limits you to 2000 or so choices.
Just post the links here! Thanks!

Keep on going... great pics, but unfortunately none work that great when they get cropped (although I like the first hot fuzz one).

Really? I like the swan-chasing picture a lot more. Got any tips as to what makes a good banner? What about the others made them not so good when cropped?

What's most important to look for is to imagine taking a horizontal slice out of the picture -- that's where the key action or visual needs to be. For instance, with the swan, you could crop it to get the cops heads/upper bodies or the swan, but not both (in terms of shrinking it to the size we need). Pictures that are filled with a huge head or just one object are equally hard to do.

It's actually 675x125 to be exact. I took the liberty of using some creative cropping and digital manipulation to get a few of yours to work BC.... just add the MRFH title where you feel most appropriate! V for Vendetta The Princess Bride Shaun of the Dead Whaddya think?

V for Vendetta The Princess Bride Shaun of the Dead Whaddya think? Brilliant! I really should get a photo editor on this new computer. Laziness. What 'ya gonna do? Oh and, uh...I just re-read Justin's original post. Van Helsing's NOT one of my favorite movies. I just thought the picture looked good. Seems like it's impossible to crop that thing to the correct size, though. *this coming from someone with minimal photo editing capabilities on her computer and in her brain*

Psst! I did all these with just Ifranview and MSPaint.

Ifranview? Never heard of it. Looks great, though! I'm downloading it right now. I used Windows Photo Gallery to do what little cropping I did.

Irfanview, actually... it's great, I use it to edit all the pictures I send in for reviews.

Got some good winners in here -- keep it up, you might stock the banner slot for the rest of the year. Good work!
P.S. - try to avoid movies we've already done as banners (Dawn of the Dead, Princess Bride, V for Vendetta, etc.)

Yes, the exact image size is 675x125, but if you're giving me the raw picture, try to make it larger so I have more to play with. I use Paint.Net, which is not only free, but highly superior to Irfanview.
