Would Spiritwalker have anything to do with Nightcrawler? (I'm horrible at this.) You're not horrible at this, Jelly, but no- the character who fits Spiritwalker (an awesome song, by the by) has powers having more to do with the mind, rather than Nightcrawler's teleportation. Also, s/he's not an X-Man.
As a bonus clue, Nightcrawler's song doesn't have anything to do with his powers, more his character.

What are you. . .? Hold on a second. . . (Wikipedia research music) Wow. Sabretooth killed Feral, eh? I have been out of the loop. One Hit (To The Body)=Juggernaut? Also....I assume that I can only make one guess as to which song belongs to, say, Storm, per day. But can I not try to take out five different mutants in one day? (This in no way means that I'm capable of doing that. Just for the sake of clarification). A fine guess, m'dear, but alas, ol' Juggs was still a bad guy in the late '90s; he didn't join the X-Men until 2003 or 2004, thereabouts. I will say, however, that the title of this song directly relates to the character in question's powers.
As for your other question, nope: one character guess per song, one song per day.Gah! Stupid clock! Move faster!

Not One of Us by Peter Gabriel- Warpath?
Nope... the character who fits that song has been a member of more than one X-team in his career, and it's not Jimmy.

Awake the Giant by Gowan = Colossus? Yikes - I'll confess I think that would have been an excellent song for ol' Petey, but alas, it's not the one my friend picked. Though if you decide to take another crack at that song, you may want to think along similar lines for your next guess...

One Hit (To the Body) by The Rolling Stones:
Strong Guy!
Score! Kaleb comes through with the correct guess this time. Guido Carosella, former bodyguard for New Mutants affiliate/rock star Lila Cheney, joined X-Factor looking to use his mutant power to absorb kinetic energy (like, say, from a punch) to increase his own strength in exchange for a steady paycheck. At the team's first press conference, Guido overheard a reporter say "He must be the strong guy! Every superhero team has a strong guy!" and aptly decided to name himself... Strong Guy. And the rest is history.

Assimilate=Candy Southern?
Wow. Huge, major geek cred for calling up that blast from the past, BCWC... I don't think most current X-Men readers even remember she existed, or was Angel's girlfriend, or ran X-Factor for a while. It's not the correct answer (Candy isn't on the list), but still... very cool!
I will give this advice to all participants: don't be afraid to make use of iTunes and lyric search websites. They are your friends. Sometimes the answer is right in the title, but sometimes it's in the lyrics or the feel of the song. Assimilate in particular has a very raw, jangly, steampunk sound to it. Also, sites like Wikipedia and uncannyxmen.net can give clues as to team lineups; you may not be familiar with every character, but knowing their names or a brief summary of their histories should enable you to puzzle a few songs out.

Okay, how lame is this, totally just made this account to answer this question. I'm BaccaWacca's friend *slap hands!* One Hit (To the Body) by the Rolling Stones has got to be Longshot, the genetically engineered dude from the Mojoverse! FUdge.. just realized i was too later.. ZOINKS >< Hey, glad to have you aboard, Heather! As for your guess, as you noted, it is incorrect. However, because that song had already been answered (and because I'm a huge Longshot fan, and perhaps due to the problematic goodness of my own heart), I'm going to allow you one more guess today. Make it a good one!

I knew I would recruit you someday, somehow, Heather. I just had to find your weakness.
*Yes. I, Heather, brought a friend named Heather to the site. I am planning an evil Heathery takeover of your site. And it has NOTHING to do with pleasant-smelling Scottish weeds.*

Past midnight on my clock now, so... Dear God by XTCNow, from the title, I WAS going to say Nightcrawler, as he has the closest connection to God of any mutant that I have ever heard about. Then after actually WATCHING the video, I said to myself "Nightcrawler would NEVER say or think these things, they are the complete opposite of his beliefs." Which brings me to my real guess... Colossus? He's sort of atheistic, or at the very least, agnostic from all of the things that he's seen in this world. Almost the same as the feeling that I get from listening to that song. Ah, you see, now here's my big dilemma- do I award the point for this? The correct answer is Nightcrawler, but I happen to agree with you that the highly religious Kurt would not be phrasing things the way the singer of the song does. (Hell, I've heard that the song is an unofficial anthem to several atheistic groups.) Back then I asked my friend why he chose that song, and he (who is an agnostic, I believe) mentioned that he was particularly thinking of the story where Kurt's faith is highly shaken by the Beyonder, a being who appeared to have the power of God in all senses, yet often behaved spuriously and cruelly. The questioning aspect of Kurt's faith is what most appealed to my friend, rather than being completely secure at all times in his religious convictions.
I've decided: you get the point for this one, because it's a misleading song and you were definitely on the right track. The good news to everyone else is, I don't think any of the others are contradictory the way this one sort of was.

It feels a bit obvious, but does No Self Control by Peter Gabriel match with the aforementioned James Howlett aka Wolverine, the X-men's resident berserker?
Can't say that it does. Sorry! I like where your line of thinking is, though, and I can say that the character who matches that song, while she wasn't a member of the X-Men per se, did have some personality traits in common with the ol' canucklehead.

Hmm... Would Spiritwalker by The Cult be our resident phaser Kitty Pride/Shadowcat/Spryte?
Sorry! If the song was called Airwalker, definitely, but Kitty's power is more physical in nature. However, I can tell you that the title of Kitty's song relates to her power, if that helps. (Oh, and that it's a great song.)

"Hearts" by Yes
Marrow
No, the bone girl didn't make it onto the list... neither she, Maggott, nor Cecilia Reyes are included, actually. As an additional clue, while my friend did include Nate Grey, the X-Man, on the list, I took him off because, well, I hate the character. (For those curious, his song was Nova Heart by the Spoons.) The character he was derived from, however, IS on the list.

Okay...another try...
Force Ten= Storm?
Spot on! Storm is the only X-Man likely to be able to be generating force ten winds, she has certainly "look[ed] into the eye of a storm," and since she led the X-Men for a few years while completely powerless, she certainly is aware that tough times demand tough talk, demand tough hearts, demand tough souls. Well done!
