Here's my first guess:
The Walking (And Constantly) by Jane Siberry - Quicksilver?
Welcome, allandrel, glad to have you here! Unfortunately Quicksilver is not the answer, but good guess! I think ol' Pietro is more of a runner than a walker, but of this song, I will say that I think it's one of the tougher ones to peg, and that the "walking" may be more metaphorical than literal.

Okay everyone, in light of recent confusion, here's where we stand: I'm docking Mike the 3 points he got for Lila and Kitty. I'm sorry, Mike; I know you didn't do it on purpose, but I have to stick by the rules I outlined. My apologies to everyone else for missing that... I'll try to be more on the ball in the future. Thank you to those who noticed for helping to keep me honest.
To help head off any other timing issues, I'm instituting the following addendum to the rules (which I'll also post on the front page): if you want to participate but will be away from a computer for 24 hours, you may PM me your guess ahead of time and I'll post it for you after midnight of the day in question, as well as whether it's right or wrong. You may only do this for a single day at a time... please don't spam me with a list of 5 guesses to cover the rest of the contest. Also, please only do this if you actually will be away from a computer, not just because you can't be bothered to post - remember, PMing your guess ahead of time keeps you from adjusting your thought process based on other people's wrong answers in between when you send it to me and I post it. If anyone has any questions or comments about this new rule, ask them in the thread.

Wow. I am REALLY bad at this game. Oh, well, there are a few days to go yet, and I have several guesses I still feel pretty good about.
Sorry you got bitca-slapped, Mike--that sucks.

Okay, reading the lyrics and watching the video for Moonlight Desires by Gowan STRONGLY suggests to me the inner turmoil of Jean Grey's hidden and forbidden love with everyone's favorite "wolfman" Wolverine. So my guess for today, 7/23/08 is that this song represents Jean Grey. *crosses fingers* Dude. You know I'm not doing this on purpose, but... no. I will say this: Jean's song has nothing to do with Wolverine, and everything to do with what defines her.
Also, that the character who fits with Moonlight Desires is a little... freer than Jean. Make of that what you will.

Okay, Okay, I have a REALLY good idea today >.> This had seriously better work.. my next guess is for cannonball! ain't he a fun guy! (and.. if I'm not nerdy enough.. I've taken the big clue from a few days ago and made a list and am systematically making my way through it... yeaaaah.. i might be taking this a bit too seriously... >.>;;;; ) Learning to fly by the floyd that is pink! Totally gotta be cannonball, as he is the most well known flyer other than angel and storm! Yep! Sam Guthrie, risen from reluctant Hellfire Club goon to co-leader of the New Mutants, founding member of X-Force, and eventual X-Man. But while Angel and Storm have an almost innate comfort level with flight, Sam was... well, downright terrible when he first started. Couldn't turn, couldn't land, he basically just aimed himself at something and blasted off. The farmboy has come a long way since then!

No offense taken. You didn't pick these, you're just the messenger. To be honest though, I think I'm putting WAY too much thought into my answers, as I doubt that your friend put that much thought into them to begin with (looking at the correct ones thus far). So I need to think to myself... "think dumber". No offense to your friend of course. It's okay, I'm already working on my list of guesses, sorting them from most likely to least likely. And whichever is at the top as the most likely that day will be what I post. This would be a fun "type" of contest to do all the time, just like a running thread. I'm enjoying this, as frustrating as it is to try to get inside the head of a complete stranger.

Spiritwalker=Karma! She is not of the "X-Men", has the prerequisite mind powers (according to your clues), and in fact those mind powers are possession, allowing her SPIRIT to WALK in the body of others. AHAHAHAHAH
You got it! Xi'an Coy Mahn discovered her power to possess the minds of others, making them do her bidding, and was forced into working for her crimelord uncle to protect her younger siblings. Defeating him, she became the original leader of the New Mutants, but was lost and feared dead for some time before resurfacing as a vessel for the Shadow King. After breaking free (and losing the 1000 or so lbs she had gained while under his thrall), she once more reunited with her friends.

It drives me nuts to have this huge, psychological explanation that completely follows a character's biography and then POW! It was the old title/powers connection after all. Yargh.

I have something of a perverse yen for passing over the sure thing in favor of the stretch. But, not today. No, today I'm campaigning for the "so obvious it can't actually be correct" vote.
"Awaken the Giant" by Gowan:
Warpath.
Right! A gentle person at heart, James Proudstar blamed the X-Men for allowing his older brother John, aka Thunderbird, to die on his second mission with the team and vowed revenge. Joining Emma Frost's Hellions, he led his teammates as longtime friends/rivals of the New Mutants and eventually found peace with his brother's death. But when his entire reservation was slaughtered, he agreed to join Cable on the newly formed X-Force for a chance at vengeance.

Hmmm...I am, for lack of a better term, really friggin' stumped.
I'm frantically searching Wikipedia trying to find some sort of connection between a character and song...I'll have to get back to you on that.

Alright, look...I want to get some reading done before I go to bed tonight, and I know that won't happen until I make a guess, so I'm just gonna run something up the flagpole... On the Loose by Saga = Quicksilver? 'Tis a fine guess, and yet... nay. The character who belongs to that song was never a member of X-Factor.
I still think people will be saying Pietro's song was bloody obvious once it's finally guessed.
