Of late, I've been involved in an ongoing convo with a friend at work, which goes something like so: we each quote a movie (oftentimes something obscure, but sometimes what we at least think should be relatively easy), and then see who can figure it fastest. We award a point per guess, and usually at the end of a month or so the winner achieves something inane (typically a free burger from our favorite greasy spoon).
Anywho, I say that to say this: I've had movie quotes on the brain and I thought this would be the crowd to share and question with. Also, it might give me some ideas as the week goes on, so onward and upward folks. What are yer faves?
"You can leave in a taxi. If you can't get a taxi, you can leave in a huff."--Firefly (Groucho Marx), Duck Soup . . . oddly enough, this was on tonight. I think I'm as much in love with Groucho Marx as a hetero man could be.
"You want a toe? I can get you a toe."--Walter (John Goodman), The Big Lebowski . . . one of my all-time favorite films. I think I'm as much in love with John Goodman as a hetero man could be.
"Rob. . . Top Five musical crimes perpetrated by Stevie Wonder in the 80s and early 90s, Go. Subquestion: is it, in fact, fair to criticize a formerly great artist for his latter day sins? Is it better to burn out than to fade away?"--Barry (Jack Black), High Fidelity . . .absolutely excellent flick. I think I'm as much in love with this movie as a hetero man could be.

My family has a tradition of playing this game during road trips & such. We normally play it so one person says a line, & whoever gets the movie first does the next. Points aren't awarded, but my dad gives kudos for particularly obscure lines. (At least once a game, someone'll get stuck & use "I'm Batman." The challenge is guessing which Batman they're quoting.)
Some favorites:
"That's not funny. That's not funny at all." - Brody (Roy Schieder,) Jaws - An all-time favorite for the whole family.
"Tom is so boring his brother is an only child." - Riff Randall (PJ Soles,) Rock 'n' Roll High School - I've used this line in conversation to describe real people before.
"Love has no borders, nationalities, or genders!" - Guitar Wolf (himself,) Wild Zero - Japanese zombie/punk/gangster/transgendered romance flick starring J-rock band Guitar Wolf. DVD comes complete with a drinking game.

We sorta kinda played this at the last place I worked at...although it was more along the lines of using obscure quotes in our regular conversations...
Some favorites:
"You're confused. He's confused you. It's very confusing." - Officer Figus (Josh Mostel), The Chase "I want you to stay here. / Why? / Because I hate you." - Mr. Tinkles (Sean Hayes) & Calico (Jon Lovitz), Cats & Dogs "You should never underestimate the predictability of stupidity." - Bullet Tooth Tony (Vinnie Jones), Snatch
And pretty much every quotable line from Kung Pow: Enter the Fist. I don't understand how people don't think that movie is funny. I mean, I know it isn't good by any stretch of the imagination, but I still think it's hilarious.
EDIT: I just wanted to add that Cats & Dogs is a horrible movie, and I don't like it at all with the exception of that quote.
