My spin-off will be the best ever!
I don't know how much explanation is required, really; just like the others, but Transformers-themed.
Oh, but wait! There are some key differences:
Songs will be divided into three categories of difficulty:
Peas & Carrots--Anyone with even cursory knowledge of the Transformers universe should be able to get these with one brain hemisphere tied behind their back.
Somewhat Tenuous--There's still a discernable song-character connection, but you may have to dig a bit for it. Alternately, the connection may be obvious, but perhaps the character is not that well-known.
Way Out There--These generally won't make sense without hints. If you can guess them unaided, you are very weird.
All categories have the same point value, however, there is an incentive for going for the toughies: For every Way Out There or every two Somewhat Tenuouses answered correctly, you will receive a bonus guess; to be used immediately, or stored away for an eleventh-hour smackdown.
We'll be using the same system for guesses as the contest that started all this madness: One per-24 (excluding bonus guesses), resetting at midnight Eastern.
The contest ends at midnight on the 12th, or when all songs have been guessed.
I may offer prizes; haven't decided yet. If I do offer prizes, they will be Transformers-related, so keep that in mind when determining whether or not you should get all excited.
Starter hints:
--All of the characters save one hail from Generation One.
--None of the characters who debuted in the animated movie (Hot Rod, Ultra Magnus, etc.) are included here.
--Four combiner teams are featured; for the guesses thereof, I'll accept either the name of the their combined robot, or the name of the team. If you want to list the individual team members as well, knock yourself out. It won't get you any additional points, but you will receive a new membership kit welcoming you into the Single Forever Club.
--Only one of the Minis makes an appearance; the same can be said for the Dinobots.
--Two Casseticons make an appearance. However, their da-da does not.
--The Super Mega Special features the only character not hailing from G1.
