Merry Christmas!
I wound up inadvertantly screwing up one present because I went and got Netflix for myself less than a week before Christmas, not knowing I was going to get an introductory subscription as a gift--d'oh! It's not like I had asked for it, I only had a couple books on my list.
And my grandmom was given a bagful of coal. Where in the world they found coal I have yet to hear.... She got a VCR too so it all evens out.

Well, I didn't get my RotK EE DVD either, which means buying it for myself when I get back to the UK.
However...
Since my parents are some kind of wonderful, they did get me a copy of the Pulp Fiction script, signed by Uma Therman, QT, Samuel L, John Travolta and Bruce Willis, and authenticated by Paramount studios.
It's so amazing, I don't even know what to begin doing with it. If anyone has any idea how to build hermetically sealed time controlled vaults on a budget, post them here...
Merry Boxing Day
- Rich

Your parents are neat. I never rely on them to get the more obscure things I want. They get me jewellery, DVDs, or plane tickets. Or hot air balloon tickets (best 17th birthday present ever).

Wow, the pulp fiction script would be an AMAZING gift! I didn't get ROTK EE because i bought it when it came out, no real special presents. Just the usual clothes, CDs, etc. But i did get a book of usuless trivia, my favorite kind!

where the heck would you go to get hot air balloon tickets? Well ok, I think it was booked. I can't really remember. Try it out once before you die, though (hot-air ballooning, not booking tickets).

My favorite gift this year was a Nintendo system... not on of those new-fangled Playstation 2's or GameCube's. Oh no, it was an original Nintendo system, complete with the Duck Hunt gun. Granted, we can't get it to work yet but I have faith that we'll be able to once again play Super Mario Bros and Tetris!
Plus, got the new Jimmy Eat World CD which was an unexpected surprise.

My beloved got me a mini-fridge/cooler thing, and on the package was a picture of cans of coke and budwieser in it. I saw that, and my brother and I said the same thing:
"I can keep six packs of be-- soda!"

My daughter bought me a very nice fuzzy jacket - size SMALL! I'm thinking of having it bronzed. Sue

Aye, Christmas was a Merry one this year, albeit cold. In Florida. Way too cold for Florida, in my opinion.
Speaking of obscure stuff, my wife actually got me the foot controller for my guitar amp that I wanted. I totally expected her to go the Walmart route this year and only get stuff available there, but I was surprised at that! She also got America: A History of Democracy Inaction, and the new Transformer Autobot Tracks, who transforms into a 2003 Corvette and is co-hosting my radio show with me this evening.
I ended up with $75 worth of gift cards to Best Buy on Christmas, which I promptly spent yesterday on the Star Wars Trilogy, Napoleon Dynamite, and the Tenacious D cd.
Oh, and my in-laws helped us buy a 2001 Ford Explorer, but I've talked about that in the past here.

I don't celebrate christmas... people react really weird when I tell em that, but really.. I'm glad to get away from the commercial madness of it.
I usually put up a tree just for fun, but didn't really have time for it this year.
