Yay for getting on the scoreboard! You are QUITE lenient, my Heathery friend.. But, I don't mind That just means I get to guess my favorite movie! Pod People - "Alien Youth" - Skillet Potatoes... Furry Potatoes... God, that's hilarious, this movie makes NO sense.. Can someone tell me how the credits at ALL fit with the rest of the movie..? and I LOVE how it's not even in english.. and dubbed SOOOO badly.. And the host segment where Joel's singing... Priceless, baby.. Priceless... IT STINKS! But at least you got your guess right. Yes, Pod People is such an inept movie they couldn't even bear to use scenes from the actual movie in the credits. It has nothing to do with pods. It has nothing to do with people. It has everything to do with hurting. *singing* "All I wanna feel now is the wind in my eyes!"

Hobgoblins - What's Your Fantasy Final answer comma regis. "I want you to see that I'm not wearing any underwear." You mean under your underwear? Paint my muscle car prune colored! Hobgoblins. Hobgoblins! What can you do with those hobgoblins?! They're over here.....they're over there.....those darned hobgoblins are everywhere! The puppets, I mean, hobgoblins, brought their victims' fantasies to life....to KILL them! AAAAHAHHAHAH!!!! This movie. Oh, this movie. My first time through was spent staring at the screen, jaw agape. Even the crew's jokes didn't get through to me, as Hobgoblins took over my soul and made me cry a little inside. But I got over that and this immediately became my favorite episode (On DVD. In color. Besides Pod People and Cave Dwellers). Oh and good news. They finally got around to making that long-awaited sequel. Sounds like they used Mike's song at the end of the trailer. What? Did they even have permission to do that?

Um....well.....my answer to your question depends on whether or not you want to still believe in the inherent goodness of man. Sidehackers is indeed correct. This horrendously depressing movie ends in a duel between the good guy and the bad guy. I hate this stupid, depressing movie. There was a very graphic rape/kill scene that the crew didn't know about until they had already decided to use it. Once they got to that part they were all shocked and horrified. Of course they had to cut it out, leaving them to have to explain, in the middle of the movie, that the girl was dead. Awkward. They didn't need to be shown twice that they should always watch movies in their entirety before deciding to use them.

Well I'm tired of not saying anything on this thread just cuz I'm not allowed to guess for another three hours.
Just finished watching Tormented. I was hoping it would give me a clue but it hasn't. I have some ideas to the song but nothing is really clicking. I'm gonna hold off until the lists narrow down before I guess that one.
Not a huge fan of the joel episodes but I like their riffs on the blind woman. "This room sounds nice. I love what I think you've done with the place." And then from the top of the lighthouse, "Hey! I can't see my house from here!"

Oh man, I agree with you. I'm not a big fan of the Joel episodes either, but I think that's because I really got into MST3K when Mike was the host.. My husband loves Joel though.. meh
Tonight's guess?
The Starfighters - "Amnesia" - Chumbawumba

Time Chasers = Days Go By
Loser status confirmed. You've got male... pattern baldness!
In the episode guide they talk about how the actual directors of the film heard that MST3K was riffing their movie, and they got excited and had this big party and then they watched the episode and... the film guys got all offended that they had made fun of it. Apparently they had no idea what MST3K actually was, they just assumed that they featured good movies on their show.

Well I'm tired of not saying anything on this thread just cuz I'm not allowed to guess for another three hours. Hey I'm not gonna come to your house bearing all manner of TORCHA devices if you talk on this thread. In fact you gave me an idea: I'd love to have an MST3K discussion on here, as I don't think I've seen one in this forum before. My opinion on Joel has changed dramatically in the last few years, since the show came to DVD. I, like, Heather, only knew Mike as the host. Once the show stopped airing at a decent hour (read: pre-2AM!) on Sci-Fi I stopped watching, and sadly the show fell onto the backburner of my mind. 3 fateful years ago I stumbled across Volume 1 in my friend's DVD collection. All but one of those are Joel episodes, and I was like "Who's THAT guy? Wait....who are THOSE guys (I had never seen The Mads before, either. It's hard to believe now)? At first I really really really disliked Joel's style. Now I still don't like him as much as I love Mike, but I certainly appreciate him in a way I couldn't at first. I like the relationship between him and the 'bots and I love all the sight gags he pulls, "interacting" with what's going on on-screen, and his "sexy woman" voice is hilarious to me. There was a totally different feeling in that era and I like it more and more. My biggest complaint has always been his acting. He obviously was very uncomfortable in front of a camera (he has even stated this himself) and he could at times be boring to watch. I don't think I can give a hint away with out making it too obvious, but I will say that you may want to read the song titles again.

Well I will say, Heather, that you picked a VERY hard movie to guess on. ESPECIALLY if you haven't seen it. The work M&TB did riffing this episode is nothing short of miraculous, as this is a completely unwatchable piece of trash. SOMEHOW they made it funny. Amazing how many sexual innuendos one can make when one is pressed. So you got it wrong. This is also the movie that features one of my favorite host segments, purely for Mike and Trace's hilariously insane delivery. "Do you think it's....... bold? "BOOOOOOLLLLLD? Well HE** YES ITS BOLD IT'S COWBOY MIKE'S OWN ORIGINAL RED HOT RICK-O-SHAAAAAAAYYY BBQ SAUCE!!!! Oh man. This is probably the most out of place thing I've seen them do on this show but I love it love it love it. This is one of the few episodes where I love all of the host segments.

I don't remember whether or not I read about it in the episode guide, but I do know that Mike does an intro to this episode where he talks about the experience. MAN that had to be awkward. I wonder why Mike stopped doing episode intros? I LOVED those. Oh and you got yours right, you little priss ant!
