Al, I just wanted to say that I refuse to take lip from nosy dames. (Except my wife.) Also, that this was a terrific review. I definitely have to seek this one out now. Nice job!

Great review! I love Dead Men Don't Wear Plaid, it's one of those movies I find myself wondering why no one ever saw it.
Ever seen The Cheap Detective, Al? While it doesn't do the inserting actors into a film thing, it's in the same vein of classic noir spoofs.

Cool beanz!
I love early Steve Martin. The Jerk, All of Me, Man With Two Brains... classics! LA Story is one of my favourite films!
"Dead Men" is a quality, quality film.
Excellent review and ace choice!

Thanks, guys. It's one I would have never heard of, but we were surfing the free section of On Demand and my brother assured everyone it was worth watching. It really reminded me how much I liked Steve Martin before I hated him. Ever seen The Cheap Detective, Al? While it doesn't do the inserting actors into a film thing, it's in the same vein of classic noir spoofs. Never heard of The Cheap Detective, Star, but wikipedia informs me it was written by Neil Simon and has a knockout cast. Onto Netflix it goes!

I love "Dead Men Don't Wear Plaid." Like Al, it helps that I'm an old movie junkie, but this is just a quality spoof all around and some classic Steve Martin.
