You have a point, but I find it interesting you're the first person I ever heard mention that. Other actors have gotten well-deserved flak for the same (Michael Cera, you're not an actor, they just follow you with a camera) and yet people always gravitate towards Cruise's personal life. I wonder why that is, other than it is what the Underworld Spawns (PR people) want us to see. Again, this ties in with what I said earlier: Tom Cruise hasn't done anything that hasn't been done before and certainly won't be the last to buy in to a whacked out religion/marry someone much younger than him/up his own butt etc etc Again, there are many, MANY actors who play themselves in each movie (Sean Connery, anyone?), so why should Cruise receive criticism for it? I'm telling you, Cruise gets the haterade because he encompasses so much that is wrong with Hollywood, rather than his individual "trespasses"...
