I had some gift cards to use and found DDR X at Best Buy. I did a little happy dance (no pun intended) and I now find myself...underwhelmed. There are some features I like about it, like Street Master mode. I think it's a good re-imagining of the Hyper Master Mode. Also the name makes me think of the old Tekken, which is awesome. I want to be able to go dance-fight these guys and collect food while the announcer yells "CHICKEN!". Oh well. Maybe next time.
The music, though, is kind of lacking. Maybe that's because it always is when you first start playing and have not yet unlocked stuff. I prefer those Japanese pop songs or good house tunes over some of the stuff they stuck in this one.
Also I just unlocked a new dancer, Zero, who is the most frighteningly emo thing I've ever seen in a DDR game. He comes complete with heavy eyeliner, drawn out pauses and sighs in response to everything.
Did anyone else buy this? Heck...does anyone else on these forums even play DDR?

I play DDR but I only own DDR Extreme 1 and 2. Is DDR X available for the PS2 or will have to wait to get a next gen console?

I love my Extreme 2. It was the first I owned. Thanks to the beauty of buying used games from Gamestop I now have Supernova, Supernova 2, DDRMax 2 (I bought the first one and it sucked mightily, so I exchanged it for Katamari Damacy. ) Extreme 1and DDR X. DDR X is, in fact, available for the PS2. We don't have none of them there fancy nextgen consoles in our house. I've unlocked about four or five songs, but I'm finding that I just don't like the music as much as previous games. I'm hoping there's better stuff waiting to be unlocked (although I will say I'm super happy to see OK Go in this one).

I love how excited Justin looks. Tone it down a little, man. Oh and I'm not entirely sure what you're doing there, Pooley. Representin' the thug life?

Hmmm... might be posted under one of the Mutant Summit stories... it was (I think) the second time Justin came to Vancouver. I'm pretty sure we just posed, however, I don't think we played. And I like to think of it less as "representin'" and more "trying to balance".

I look so depressed in that picture... possibly because DDR is communist.
