Recently, a local Game Universe in my hometown held a game convention. The manager, one of my friends, hired a professional to organize it and it turned out great.
Until the bill came. All the attendance money mysteriously disappeared and the organizer skipped town. A month or two later, he was arrested for fraud and larceny. There was no sign of the money. Because the Game Universe spent so much on the convention, they couldn't pay their rent , so the bank foreclosed and seized all assets. It has since been shut down and all the very nice and cool people employed there are jobless.
The man responsible is in jail, but there's simply no way to get the hundreds of thousands he stole from the several business he successfully ripped off. Although justice has been served to him, everyone he screwed is forever screwed, no one is going to ante up and pitch in to get that money back.
It only takes one person to poison a river for that river to be ruined. That is most likely why I hate humanity so much; because there exist such people that would think of themselves so much that they would ruin dozens of people's lives for a few moments of self gain and think nothing of it. It also depresses me to know that few people even think about these kinds of situations and the people who create them, people would rather be ignorant of the world's problems.
