My triumphant return! You KNOW you're excited! My laptop at home needs some work (volunteers?) so I have very limited access if I can pry husband's from his grip. I do most of my interneting from work. Unfortunately, a few months ago, our extremely underqualified, overpaid, and paranoid IT guy installed some software to block content inappropriate websites from our network, thus ruining my lunch break. He mysteriously was fired last week and our new IT guy is 25 and awesome! I explained the ridiculousness of this blocking software and he uninstalled it. This site was blocked due to the word 'hell.' Also blocked- the vast majority of the internet. but yay! I'm back!

Watching a comedy special on Comedy Central -- a show you and your friends attended when they were visiting, where the producers wanted the theater to look full because they were taping it, so they bumped you and a bunch of people from the nosebleed section to the third row -- and seeing yourself and your friends in the audience a few times.
Pretty stupid, but cool nonetheless.

Learning that you're a finalist for best college DJ in the College Broadcasters Incorporated 2008 contest! (If anyone is curious, the link is here. Just scroll down to radio. It's officially me and my cohost from a few months ago on our show Americana, Blues & Co.)

A semester studying film art in Europe. Very cool, Shady! Happiness is a working telephone (and only 10 months after I moved in)!

Having a fantastic time at Dragon*Con this past weekend...hanging out with the Ghost Hunters (Grant Wilson is a doll!), running around with the Spanish Inquisition while dressed as a nun, and I now own Nathan Fillion's stuffed teddy bear.
God, I love cons!! ;D

Pennsylvania finally catching up with New Jersey and enacting a smoking ban. As of today, Lady Luck and I can officially go out to any bar or restaurant and not worry about coming home reeking of cigarettes.

Drew, you'll find even more appreciation for this law as you discover that you're now able to bring the baby to wing night. I haven't had decent wings in almost 2 years because I couldn't stand the smoke when I was pregnant.

I haven't had decent wings in almost 2 years because I couldn't stand the smoke when I was pregnant. I've got to be honest: I miss smoky bars. Some of the more poorly-ventilated ones could get pretty asphixiating (I'm looking at you, Rudy's), but I always thought it created a better atmosphere and I always liked being able to smell last night on my clothes. Then again, I also enjoy the smell of car exhaust, so maybe I'm just weird.

Well, Al, you'll always have strip clubs. The law only applies to establishments that make 15% or more of their money from food, so bars that don't serve any grub are exempt.
