...stressing out all day over a midterm and then getting to class and discovering you know every single answer.
And then coming home and getting a letter opener that looks like a long sword! Sweet!

...Food, of course. Everybody likes food. Food and music cross boundaries.

On the upside of life in our church came this interesting story... my wife has a good friend there named Lindsey, who was two month's pregnant with her second child when she found out it died and had to have a D&C. Very tough on her, and my wife, also being pregnant, felt horrible about it.
Today, she went in for a checkup to make sure everything was fine... and they found the baby, alive and kicking in her womb. Not dead at all. It's nothing short of absolutely amazing. They're not sure if a twin died or not, but... we are pulling for that baby in a big way now. The D&C puts it at risk, but man, we could use some good news this week.

I really don't think I've ever heard of anything like that happening before (I'm sure it has..I just haven't heard it). Made me smile.

Happiness is... warm, melty peanut butter. On ANYTHING hot.
And mustard. On anything cold.

I slept last night. All night. After two long, painful, brain-draining weeks of insomnia (I generally went to bed between 3 and 6 and had sporadic unavoidable naps throughout the day) I am tearfully thankful. What surprises me even more is that it happened on my last night with my husband. I figured I'd be awake all night dreading the deployment and worrying about him. My body is notorious for being resistant to nearly any medication. I got no relief through all manner of pills/herbs/tricks and tips. I was starting to go mad. I just pray that I'm over this. For those of you getting my updates on Facebook this will probably be even a bigger relief, if just because you won't have to get sequentially less coherent updates every hour or so, complaining about what time it is and that I'm still friggin' awake.

I don't know, Oogie... I met Sue face to face before the cancer, and believe me she had laser vision back then already!

A common trait among people I know... my wife has it too, believe me.
