I'm telling you, if it was as flexible as you guys are saying it would conform to the shape of the spear and still would have killed him! And furthermore... ... oh... a joke. I knew that.
And congrats on the bun, Jay. *ahem* I hope that your first child is a masculine child.

I vaguely remember that I first came to the site some time in 2001. Can't recall the exact events that led me to it, though. Or anything else that happened in the Before Time.

My story is interesting at best. I was a junior in high school. Knowing that one day, I was going to be an author, I took a Creative Writing class to try to help that along. About midway through the semester, my teacher gave us an assignment that I liked: She told us to pick our favorite movie, find a review on the internet for it, and then write a review of the review, which turned out to be, in most cases, simply a review of said film. But, in any case, I was surfing the net, using that good ol' www.mrqe.com in my search for a good review of Dogma, when I happened upon a link that had the word 'Hell' in it. Being a high school male, I simply couldn't resist. I mean, its not every day that a site that has a naughty word in the very title gets by school filters. Interestingly enough, I did use the mrfh reviews to do my paper. I passed.

I was looking for a reviews of "Thirteen Ghosts," and I stumbled upon DnaError's review for it. I remember my interests in the site being piqued when he mentioned that Thirteen Ghosts is a good MST3K viewing experience. And the rest is history. And by that I mean I don't remember when I started to frequent the website, but I think "and the rest is history" is a much better ending.
...and I never did watch Thirteen Ghosts.
...okay, now the rest is history.

Well, I found the site via IMDb's external reviews - I can't for the life of me remember which movie it was for; I'm thinking either Holy Grail or Spaceballs, depending on when those movies were reviewed for the site. This would've been sometime in '97, back when I was still new to the internet and for some reason IMDb was one of the relatively few sites I visited on anything like a regular basis (don't ask how I found IMDb - far more complicated). I became a regular reader sometime later when I had a thing for movie review sites, and these days MRFH is probably the only review site I still visit regularly (course, most of the other review sites I used to visit have long since disappeared into the ether...).
As for the forums...I joined pretty much so I could enter the Doodle Contest. I don't usually post in forums (or enter contests, for that matter), but, hell, I like doodling.

Hmm. I was about to make a thread like this. good thing I checked first. I found it on MRQE searching for several movies, and I checked it for reviews once in a while but didn't start reading it daily and religiously until about 2 years ago. and, as you know, I joined the forum a few months ago. somehow I didn't notice the forum until then. cool, huh?
oh and by the way, "bump".

I loooooooooove this thread. I was just thinking of starting this same thing myself.
I started around eighth grade, perhaps on the exact day Oogie Boogie did. I had a crush on not one, but two of the boys from Detriot Rock City (Edward Furlong and that other one) and for some reason that made me determined to stay up until 3 reading as many internet reviews as I could. I did the same thing as Oogie again, by always google-ing Detroit Rock City to find the city. At the time, I was begining my nerdom and I threw myself in cult/funny movie. This site was incredibly helpful, as I was begining my funny movie Fridays (weekends of eating elaborate snacks foods and renting 5 movies for 5 days for 5 dollars 5 5 5!) and I needed suggestions. And after five years, one application, and a few random forgetable emails to Justin and Claire (I haven't mentioned yet how much Claire is my idol. Claire is my idol) my second application apparently was so submerged in hilarity that my face was a mutant face from then on.
This is so fun! Now let's talk about how we all discovered Orange Julius! I saw it in an SNL sketch!

AAARGH!!!! I'm such a noob. Gr........ I discovered this sight a mere 2 weeks ago. (Warning. This will sound silly. Do not make judgement on me...yet.)
I was searching for all the songs used in Moulin Rouge. No other site would tell me. Damn my luck. This site not only had a list of all the songs used, but awsome reviews. I made note to remember it, and promptly forgot all about it. (One of my prof's is uber hard this year, and my workload is at a max) Later, I was looking for a review of PotC that agreed with me. Everyone gives that movie far to much credit in my eyes. I remembered the words "Mutants" and "Hell", so I typed those in with pirates, review, and pearl. I totally disagreed with the reviews, but I loved the sight. Everything was funny, so funny, and was exactly what I was looking for to while away the hours. So I hiched up my pants, joined the forum, and...yeah.

My parents were clearning out their massive video collection last summer, and among the movies I grabbed from them were "Meatballs" (the first one with Bill Murray) and "The Three Amigos." I went looking for stuff on both at IMDb and found the reviews here linked. I thought the reviews were so funny, I decided to take a look at the whole site...and got hooked.

If it's any consolation, I thought the first one was a decent movie but nothing special. I might get around to seeing the sequel someday, but it's not a priority. -D

I was chating with a friend on MSN, and somehow we started talking about really BAD movie titles. That led me to do a search for more bad titles and suddenly I found TMFH list of worst movie titles. I loved the comments so much I researched the rest o the site, and here I am.
