Oh, another thing I do is move around numbers. Like I'll see or hear a phone or serial number, whatever, and I'll start adding them up or moving them around in my head.
So let's say 555-6192:
5+5+1=11, 6+5=11, 9+2=11
OR
5+2=7, 6+1=7, 9-2=7, take the extra 2+5=7
And so on...
It's annoying when I'm trying to write down or remember a number.

StarOpal, I do that ALL THE TIME. I totally don't even notice it any more.
PS: Ms Jellybean, I was in a marching band too, for years. I have a feeling I share quirks with most everyone here...

A quirk of mine that gets on my girl friend's nerves constantly is that I will split hairs, I'll even do it before I can catch my self. I am also prone to correcting little mistakes made when someone quotes a movie. Constantly correcting the trivial and interrupting people with trivial comments is not a good habit to have and is one i am constantly trying to break.

One of my worst habits/quirks is that, when I read, my eyes will pick up on a random word from the line beneath the line I am currently reading, and my mind will process that word as if it is a part of what I'm currently reading (If that explanation makes no sense, you can blame my sleepiness). It just happened to me for the nth time, so I felt it was worth posting.
