I'd gladly trade poison ivy for a hand with broken bones... I was getting out of the car the other day, and my mother accidentally slammed shut a door on my left hand, trapping it inside. The door didn't just hit it and bounce off -- it CLOSED and clicked home. Yeesh. *waves for sympathy* GAAAAAAAAH!!!!!!!! My entire left arm just seized up in sympathy! I bet your Mom feels just terrible. (And I bet you don't feel too spiffy either.) Get better soon!

In my case I had my left hand on the door and it blew shut trapping two of my fingers. The door was locked and I had to wait for my aunt to come around to let me out (it was her car)... at which point she started panicking leaving me stuck and trying to calm her down. So she lets me out and all the blood rushes to my fingers... it wasn't pretty. Those fingers are slightly bent now. I feel ya, man.

Mom was actually crying hysterically, thus prompting me to be all stoic and "It doesn't really hurt, it's okay" while trying not to stoically cry. Felt very bad for her feeling bad for me.

Yikes. My condolences. How many bones were broken? How long do you have to have the cast on?
How, exactly, are you typing?

Pretty sure I have a couple bones at least fractured, but haven't quite gone into the doctor's yet for an x-ray (this happened in Mexico, and since I could still make a fist, I figured it wasn't high priority). We shall see. I need typing hands for the next day or so.
